Prince<\/a>\u2018s estate has announced details of a new career-spanning rarities album, titled Timeless<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The upcoming record, which features 10 tracks, is set for release on August 28th, 2026, through Prince\u2019s estate\u2019s partnership with Sony\u2019s Legacy Recordings.<\/p>\n

Timeless<\/em> is an album that promises to take listeners on the entire journey of the career of \u2018The Purple One\u2019, with the earliest track recorded in 1977, when he was yet to become a star, all the way through to 2016, the year of his tragic death.<\/p>\n

To get excitement flowing with fans ahead of the release of Timeless<\/em>, the unreleased track \u2018Stone\u2019, recorded in early 1995, has been shared by the estate.<\/p>\n

The previously unheard composition, which has been gathering dust in the vaults at Paisley Park for more than 30 years, was written by Sandra St Victor, Tom Hammer, and Jules Van Even.<\/p>\n

As it was recorded in 1995, it likely would have been made with Emancipation <\/em>in mind, but like bundles of other Prince compositions over the years, it had to wait patiently to see the light of day.<\/p>\n

Keeping with the theme of celebrating Prince\u2019s legacy,<\/a> the estate is currently hosting the Prince Celebration 2026 at Paisley Park and across Minneapolis between June 3rd and June 6th, which will see associates such as NPG, The Revolution\u2019s Bobby Z and Lisa Coleman all take to the stage.<\/p>\n

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has also declared this week, beginning on June 1st to June 7th, as Prince Celebration Week. The city\u2019s skyline will be illuminated purple in his memory on Saturday (June 6th) to salute Minneapolis\u2019s favourite son.<\/p>\n

In April, it marked ten years since Prince tragically died. Paul McCartney recently opened up<\/a> about the loss, sharing, \u201cHe was a special guy, it\u2019s so sad these people y\u2019know, suddenly he\u2019s not here. It always makes me wish that I\u2019d known him better, and I could say, \u2018Hey man, what\u2019s going on?\u2019 It\u2019s such a shame, there\u2019s such talents.\u201d<\/p>\n

McCartney also revealed that he\u2019s been given a recording of Prince covering \u2018The Long and Winding Road\u2019 during rehearsals, which he\u2019s hoping will be released.<\/p>\n
