James Handy<\/strong>, the actor known for his roles in Top Gun: Maverick<\/em> and Jumanji<\/em> has been fatally stabbed. He was 81.<\/p>\n

According to a police statement, the veteran died at a home in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 4, after being stabbed by his girlfriend\u2019s son Michael Gledhill<\/strong>. The incident is currently under investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Wednesday, June 3, 2026, around 9:30 a.m., West Valley area patrol officers responded to a radio call of unknown trouble in the 19200 block of Erwin Street. The 911 caller stated, \u2018I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.\u2019 Upon their arrival, officers discovered 81-year-old James Handy in the front yard of the residence, unconscious and suffering from a stab wound to his chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, where he was pronounced deceased,\u201d the LAPD\u2019s statement<\/a> read.<\/p>\n

Police claimed via the statement that Gledhill \u201cflagged down nearby responding officers\u201d and told them that \u201che was the one they were looking for.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHollywood actor Bruce Glover has died at the age of 92. Handy\u2019s representatives confirmed the actor\u2019s death to Us Weekly<\/em> on Thursday, June 4.<\/p>\n

During his acting career, Handy played a bartender in the 2022 film, Top Gun: Maverick<\/em>. He also portrayed an exterminator in the 1995 classic, Jumanji<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Handy portrayed a doctor in Logan<\/em> opposite Hugh Jackman<\/strong>\u2019s Wolverine.<\/p>\n
