\n\tWritten with beloved cowgirl character Jessie in mind, \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d arrived at midnight Friday (June 5) and \u2014 both sonically and lyrically \u2014 finds the pop superstar tapping into her original genre. The theme will be featured on the franchise\u2019s fifth movie soundtrack, which drops June 19, the same day Toy Story 5 <\/em>hits theaters. <\/p>\n

\n\tSwift posted a message to X alongside a link to the new track, sharing that \u201cwriting this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. \n\tSwift revealed just five days prior to the track\u2019s release that she was involved in Toy Story 5<\/em>, only after mysterious \u201cTS\u201d billboards using the movie franchise\u2019s signature font appeared in different locations around the world. The 14-time Grammy winner\u2019s website also changed to show a Toy Story<\/em>-themed countdown leading up to the announcement on Monday.<\/p>\n

\n\tToy Story 5 <\/em>director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton said in a statement<\/a>, \u201cIt\u2019s incredible just how meaningful it\u2019s been having Taylor write and perform this song.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHer connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable,\u201d he added. \u201cThe song is so deeply connected to Toy Story<\/em>. So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member.\u201d<\/p>\n
