So is it going to be an indie rock summer? <\/p>\n
June is here, and it\u2019s kicking off with some of the top indie rockers out there. New albums dropped today from Modest Mouse<\/strong> (which, based on the singles, will be one of their best albums in years), Death Cab for Cutie<\/strong> (who have returned to the indie world, now signed to ANTI-), and Deer Tick<\/strong>. <\/p>\n
Same thing with songs; there are new singles out this week from Cold War Kids<\/strong>, Steve Lacy<\/strong> and The Afghan Whigs<\/strong>, as well as major acts like Muse<\/strong>. And while Weezer<\/strong> may not be indie rockers anymore, they have up-and-comers Wednesday<\/strong> guesting on their latest single. Things are also popping in the pop-punk and ska-punk worlds this week, as we\u2019ve got new singles from up-and-comers The Paradox<\/strong> and The Iron Roses<\/strong>, as well as from vets like New Found Glory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
Break-out artist Role Model <\/strong>is getting ready to drop his third album, and shared its first single this week, and we\u2019ve got the second pop-metal single from classic band Europe<\/strong>. There\u2019s a bluesy summer track from Keb\u2019 Mo\u2019<\/strong>, and a simmering alternative track in the way only Peter Gabriel<\/strong> could do it. We\u2019ve got a previously unreleased track from Prince<\/strong>, and a world-spanning collaboration between Seun Kuti<\/strong> and Tom Morello<\/strong>. <\/p>\n
Also returning to the list this week are MP Grey<\/strong>, XBYRDX, Sawyer Hill<\/strong>, zzzahara<\/strong>, Satya, Myer U Clark<\/strong>, Ciaran<\/strong> Quigley, Public Opinion<\/strong>, John R. Miller<\/strong>, MUKI, Mal Not Bad<\/strong>, Glimmer, Bellows, Cinema Stare<\/strong>, Citizen<\/strong>, Piper Connolly, Keegan Powell, Christopher Ardra,<\/strong> Hermanos Guti\u00e9rrez<\/strong>, Jacob & the Dazey Chain<\/strong>, Tres Kings<\/strong>, Belvedere, Vince Staples<\/strong>, Mia Archives, David G.
