Steve Harvey<\/a> just announced a devastating personal loss: the death of his father-in-law \u2014 his wife Marjorie Harvey\u2019s father.<\/p>\n On Friday, June 5, the Family Feud<\/em><\/a> and Celebrity Family Feud<\/a><\/em> host, 69, took to Instagram<\/a> to share the sad news with fans and followers.<\/p>\n \u201cYesterday we buried one of the best men I\u2019ve ever met, James Bridges Sr., Marjorie\u2019s father. But to me, Pop Bridges,\u201d he captioned the update, which featured a photo of his late father-in-law. \u201cThank you, sir, for the example of faith, fatherhood, and family.\u201d<\/p>\n In the comments, Instagram users showered Steve with condolences and prayers in the wake of the family death. I know he had such an impactful presence.\u201d<\/p>\n On June 4, just days after James\u2019 death, Harvey and Marjorie attended a street naming ceremony honoring him in Memphis, Tennessee. The city council approved the move in May, before James died at 91 on Monday, June 1, ABC 24 Memphis<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n \u201cOver the course of his life, he owned Bridges Concessions, Bridges Sales and Service, BTW Transportation, in addition to being a real estate investor,\u201d the city detailed in a news release. \u201cHe worked for Velsicol Chemical, International Harvester, Memphis City Schools, and Shelby County Correction Center, where his impact continues to be felt by employees and students he interacted with and led over many years.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is the first time I\u2019ve been to a street naming of a person just cause he was a great man,\u201d Harvey said at the ceremony.<\/p>\n Steve married Marjorie, his third wife, in 2007.
