We are just weeks away from the release of Toy Story 5<\/a>, excitement is soaring to infinity and beyond and rumours are shaking up a story 30 year in the making.<\/p>\n The latest instalment in Pixar\u2019s biggest franchise hits Australian cinemas on June 18, promising a new adventure for the characters we have known and loved for 30 years.<\/p>\n Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack are back \u2013 and this time, they’re joined by Greta Lee as a technological villain.\u00a0Karwai Tang\/WireImage<\/p>\n Unsurprisingly, speculation about what that adventure will be has been everywhere \u2013 helped by exciting cast announcements, including a surprise Australian addition, and the biggest artist in the world<\/a>. No biggie.<\/p>\n Keep reading for all the confirmed details, gossip and speculation about what to expect from Toy Story 5:<\/p>\n It\u2019s a Tay Story<\/a>, baby just say yes.<\/p>\n After a month of teasing, speculation and Easter eggs, Taylor Swift confirmed<\/a> she was releasing a new single for the film, I Knew it, I Knew You, on June 5.<\/p>\n The emotional song was a return to her country music roots.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I\u2019ve adored since I was a five-year-old kid watching the first Toy Story movie,\u201d Swift wrote. <\/p>\n \u201cI fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. <\/p>\n \u201cSometimes you just know, right?\u201d<\/p>\n Billboards featuring 13 animated clouds and the initials TS, in the classic Toy Story font, were spotted worldwide.\u00a0Instagram\/@Pixar<\/p>\n In April, Swift was out and about in New York… wearing all the colours from the Toy Story logo.\u00a0Aeon\/GC Images<\/p>\n The final puzzle piece is how the song will fit into the film.<\/p>\n Based on the sound, it\u2019s surely going to be played during a big emotional climax \u2013 so it\u2019s probably best to BYO tissues.<\/p>\n Of course, Tom Hanks<\/a>, Tim Allen<\/a> and Joan Cusack are back as Woody, Buzz and Jessie, along with plenty of other Toy Story favourites like Bo Peep, Hamm, Rex, Forky and Slinky Dog.<\/p>\n Jessie is set to play a big part in the film’s story.\u00a0Pixar<\/p>\n But while Swift\u2019s involvement is just musical<\/a>, we do know for sure that plenty of other celebs have joined the cast.<\/p>\n Among new characters are Conan O\u2019Brien<\/a> as electronic potty-training toy Smarty Pants and Craig Robinson<\/a> as Atlas, a GPS hippo toy. <\/p>\n Bullseye, Jessie, Atlas, Smarty Pants, and Snappy in Toy Story 5\u00a0Pixar<\/p>\n There will be an Australian voice among the toys too, at least for audiences Down Under.<\/p>\n Gold Coast producer Paul Fisher<\/a>, known as FISHER<\/a>, will voice Garden Gnome in the Australian and New Zealand release of the film \u2013 \u201ca member of a small but scrappy community of forgotten toys living in an abandoned backyard shed\u201d.<\/p>\n Aussie DJ FISHER is voicing Garden Gnome – and can’t wait to watch the film with his daughters.\u00a0Instagram\/@followthefishtv<\/p>\n Fisher said he couldn\u2019t wait to watch it with wife Chloe and two young daughters, Bobbi, 23 months, and Andi, four months.<\/p>\n \u201cTHIS IS ACTUALLY WILD!\u201d he reacted on Instagram.<\/p>\n He\u2019ll be in excellent company, with Bad Bunny<\/a> also announced as one of the forgotten toys, Pizza with Sunglasses. That\u2019s all we know, but consider us intrigued.<\/p>\n The Traitors host Alan Cumming<\/a> was also announced as Evil Bullseye, an alter-ego of Woody\u2019s horse toy who up to this point had never spoken.<\/p>\n Our biggest hint at the plot is thanks to the announcement of Greta Lee\u2019s character, Lilypad.<\/p>\n Lilypad is Bonnie’s new favourite toy…\u00a0Disney Pixar<\/p>\n It will be a toy versus tech tale, with the story focusing on the impact of technology and electronics on children<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lilypad is a tablet that captures all the attention of the toys\u2019<\/a> owner, Bonnie<\/a>, making her the main antagonist of the film.<\/p>\n Yep, it\u2019s tackling screen time<\/a>!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
