Original Queer Eye For The Straight Guy<\/em><\/a> star Jai Rodriguez<\/strong><\/a> is responding to Karamo Brown<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s claims the environment on the hit reality TV series was toxic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey ya\u2019ll, it\u2019s Jai here from the original Queer Eye<\/em>, or maybe 20-some odd years ago you remember it as being the Queer Eye For The Straight Guy<\/em>,\u201d Rodriguez, 46, shared in a video uploaded to TikTok on Friday, June 5. \u201cIt was the first major show on Bravo and my successor, Karamo, who I love and adore, just did a big interview that I deeply resonated with. Deeply resonated with.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a tell-all interview with People<\/em> published on Tuesday, June 2, Karamo \u2014 who starred on the revamped Queer Eye<\/em> for 10 seasons alongside Jonathan Van Ness<\/strong><\/a>, Tan France<\/strong><\/a>, Antoni Porowski<\/strong><\/a>, Bobby Berk<\/strong><\/a> and later Jeremiah Brent<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 claimed the show\u2019s working environment was filled with alleged bullying and poor behavior<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone would just say, \u2018Well, that\u2019s just that person,\u2019 instead of saying, \u2018This behavior does not fly in a professional environment,\u2019\u201d Brown claimed. \u201cIt impacted me negatively, consistently.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tKaramo Brown is ready to open up about his experience filming Queer Eye with his Fab Five costars. In a new interview, Brown, 45, described a work environment filled with alleged bullying and poor behavior. \u201cEveryone would just say, \u2018Well, that\u2019s just that person,\u2019 instead of saying, \u2018This behavior does not fly in a professional [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He continued, \u201cI was depressed. It felt shameful because I was teaching people that they could be better, but in my own life, I was trapped.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Friday, Rodriguez told his followers that he was making a video \u201cin support of\u201d Karamo and \u201call Queer Eye<\/em> folk who have ever been a Fab Five person\u201d in the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s important to share that unless you worked on the show as a Fab Five member, you\u2019ll never know the actual story and, to date, none of us have ever written a tell-all or told our stories as honestly as Karamo did,\u201d he added. \u201cIt just hasn\u2019t happened. And, um, I have the utmost respect for Karamo sharing his truth. I\u2019m sure in the next month, years, whatever, more people will share tales of their journeys and some may shock you, and some may not.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cBut I think what is undeniable and what I love that Karamo emphasized is that at the end of the day, cast members came together to make sure that the hero, the person we were making over \u2014 in the 100 episodes that we did in the original cast, and the 10 seasons the new cast did \u2014 that all the folks that we made over were seen, respected and elevated and loved and cared for. And it really took a family to do that, and families can be dysfunctional.\u201d<\/p>\n
