\u201cDo people constantly ask you to run for president in real life?\u201d Goldwyn\u2019s Scandal <\/i>costar Kerry Washington <\/b><\/a>asked her former TV love interest, 66, during the Saturday, June 6, episode of Variety<\/i><\/span><\/a>\u2019s \u201cActors on Actors\u201d series.<\/p>\n

According to Goldwyn, he \u201cgenerally\u201d gets asked about any political ambitions while standing \u201con a street corner.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to say thank you so much, but that\u2019s a really bad idea,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The ABC drama quickly changed the landscape of TV \u2014 even after it concluded in 2018 after 7 seasons. Created by TV mogul Shonda Rhimes, Scandal follows Olivia Pope as she launches a crisis management firm. She left her position as [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Washington, 49, took a different stance on the issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think you would be a terrible president, to be honest,\u201d Washington, who starred as Olivia Pope on Scandal<\/i>, noted. \u201cYou\u2019d assemble a really wonderful Cabinet and team around you. And you care!\u201d<\/p>\n

Goldwyn, who affirmed that he would care about the gig, noted his plans to enlist Washington<\/a> for a cabinet position.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou would not bring me. I would not be available,\u201d she joked. \u201cYou\u2019re such a nice guy, clearly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scandal<\/i>, created by producer Shonda Rhimes<\/b>, followed a D.C. fixer named Olivia Pope<\/a> amid her on-and-off affair with Fitz despite his presidency and marriage. Scandal <\/i>wrapped in 2018 after seven seasons, with Olivia and Fitz getting back together.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey weren\u2019t the healthiest couple,\u201d Washington admitted on Saturday\u2019s episode. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t mean they weren\u2019t madly in love, but they had some difficulties, which is why people loved it. What did you think about the ending?\u201d<\/p>\n

Goldwyn and Washington both concurred that they \u201cloved\u201d the finale story arc.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel that Fitz and Olivia are together,\u201d Goldwyn predicted of the beloved Olitz ship<\/a>. \u201cI feel that what we had at the root of it was very real, and it\u2019s why we could never get away from it \u2014 as opposed to being something that was ultimately dysfunctional. I thought ultimately these two people were their answer to each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Washington similarly believes Olivia and Fitz finally made their romance work, she noted that they\u2019d likely be in \u201ccouple\u2019s therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n
