Alyson Hannigan<\/strong><\/a> spoke out following the death<\/a> of her Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em><\/a> costar Anthony Stewart Head<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cThis cut is so deep I fear it can never heal,\u201d Hannigan, 52, admitted in a poignant Instagram post<\/a> on Saturday, June 6.<\/p>\n The duo starred together for seven seasons on the cult classic supernatural horror series, in which Hannigan played wiccan hero Willow Rosenberg and Head portrayed Buffy\u2019s watcher Rupert Giles.<\/p>\n \u201cOh Tonal\u2026I am so grateful to have had you in my life,\u201d Hannigan\u2019s tribute went on. \u201cI want to say a million wonderful things about you and yet I can\u2019t seem to find the words that would do you justice. I love you so much and will miss you forever. RIP.\u201d<\/p>\n Buffy<\/em>\u2019s lead actress Sarah Michelle Gellar<\/strong> offered Hannigan support in the post\u2019s comment section, writing, \u201cHe loved you so dearly Aly.\u201d<\/p>\n Anthony\u2019s daughters, Emily<\/strong> and Daisy Head<\/strong>, announced on Friday, June 5, that their father died following a battle with pneumonia.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our extraordinary father, Anthony Head,\u201d they revealed. \u201cHe passed away peacefully of complications due to pneumonia, surrounded by his family.\u201d<\/p>\n Their statement continued, \u201cIt has been, and forever will be, an honor and a privilege to be his daughters, and to have witnessed firsthand the impact both he and his work have had on so many. We know how dearly he will be missed by friends, colleagues, and fans of the shows he was in \u2014 he loved his job very much, and he always considered himself incredibly lucky, to have been able to work alongside such exceptionally talented people, in such wonderful productions, across a career that spanned several decades.\u201d<\/p>\n Many of the most iconic stars from Buffy<\/em> \u2014 including David Boreanaz<\/strong>, Eliza Dushku<\/strong>, James Marsters<\/strong> and Emma Caulfield<\/strong> \u2014 reflected on the life and legacy<\/a> of their late costar following the announcement of his death.<\/p>\n \u201cTony H ~ For every scene & time shared, I give thanks.
