Jenna Bush Hager is spilling on her famous parents\u2019 personal lives.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday\u2019s episode of Today<\/em> with Jenna and Sheinelle<\/em>, Hager and Sheinelle Jones discussed Jones\u2019 recent interview with former First Lady Jill Biden.<\/p>\n Jones recalled reading a passage from Biden\u2019s memoir in which the former first lady described meeting with President Bush at the George W. Bush Library.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then she talks about her mom, Laura, and said Laura came in and said, \u2018Hey Bushy,\u2019 then sauntered into the hallway for a cup of coffee<\/a> as he smiled at her,\u201d Jones recalled.<\/p>\n COMPLEX SHOP:<\/b> Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThat sounds like you were reading a romance,\u201d joked Hager.<\/p>\n Hager confirmed the unexpected nickname.<\/p>\n \u201cThey call each other Bushy. My dad loves a nickname,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t remember when Bushy became the thing,\u201d Hager continued. \u201cBut they both call each other Bushy.\u201d<\/p>\n She noted that when she was little, her parents called each other \u201cDarlin.\u201d Hager then revealed that her father\u2019s nickname for her husband, Henry Hager, is \u201cStretch\u201d due to his height.<\/p>\n Nicknames have long been important within the Bush family.<\/p>\n For much of her life, Hager called her grandfather, the former president of the United States, George H.W. Bush, \u201cPoppy.\u201d This was a name he went by when he was a little boy.<\/p>\n The nickname stuck and eventually inspired Hager to name her daughter \u201cPoppy Louise\u201d in 2015.<\/p>\n In a previous interview, Hager explained that while she was living in the White House, the Secret Service had code names for both her and her twin sister Barbara.<\/p>\n “When you have Secret Service, you have a code name.
