Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> pro Mark Ballas<\/strong> <\/a>and wife BC Jean<\/strong> made their first trip to New York City without 2-year-old son Banksi in tow<\/a> \u2014 and he\u2019s unbothered by his parents\u2019 absence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis date night is, like, usually there\u2019s one with us,\u201d Ballas, 40, told Us Weekly <\/em>exclusively while attending the 2026 Tony Awards<\/a> on Sunday, June 7, \u201cHe was like, \u2018See ya, whatever.\u2019 He\u2019s having the best time [without us].\u201d<\/p>\n

Banksi might not have been around for this red carpet moment, but Ballas and Jean, 39, told Us<\/em> that he\u2019s already displaying signs of following in their musical footsteps.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we have a drummer on our hands,\u201d Ballas said. Jean added, \u201cI said that when he was in the belly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballas continued, \u201cHe\u2019s always hearing drums and me isolating them. When the drums are going he wants to be involved in that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jean also told Us<\/em> that Banksi is \u201cdefinitely loving being in the studio\u201d as the couple records their upcoming album.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery instrument, he likes to touch all of them and hear the sounds,\u201d Jean continued, \u201c[He\u2019s] starting to move a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sports could also be in Banksi\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe also has an arm,\u201d Ballas said. \u201cFor a 2-year-old, you should see him throw a ball. It\u2019s pretty impressive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jean added, \u201cWe\u2019re proud parents.\u201d<\/p>\n

While they\u2019re celebrating their son\u2019s milestones, Ballas and Jean are also gearing up for a major milestone of their own. The couple will be celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary this upcoming November.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us, I don\u2019t know if there\u2019s a secret. I feel like it\u2019s marry your best friend,\u201d Jean told Us<\/em> about their relationship. \u201cNot just someone that you love, but someone that you can fight with and get through the hard times with. Mainly someone that you can laugh even through the dark stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballas agreed, noting that being \u201cbest friends\u201d was the \u201croot\u201d of their relationship.<\/p>\n
