Bobby Witt Jr.<\/a> suffered a right knee injury<\/a> and had to leave the game, according to the team.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n \u201cBobby Witt Jr. exited today\u2019s game with right knee soreness,\u201d the Royals wrote.<\/p>\n Witt was lifted at the bottom of the seventh inning, and Maikel Garcia<\/a> moved over to shortstop. It didn\u2019t look as if there was one specific play where Witt may have injured himself, so it\u2019s uncertain what the cause of the injury is.<\/p>\n Just a few weeks ago, Witt spoke about how his preparation<\/a> for the game is always evolving, which has led him to play at a high level every season.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think that that\u2019s what a lot of guys don\u2019t understand. I don\u2019t even really get it sometimes,\u201d Witt said. \u201cYou just had two really good games, you did the exact same thing, and then you just fell off. But your body\u2019s always changing. Your body feels different. You\u2019re playing so many different games. And so it\u2019s just, how can you get yourself ready for whatever time the game is? And some things sometimes it has to change, whether it\u2019s your prep work, your cage routine, your whatever it is. And so that\u2019s what makes baseball so much fun.\u201d<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Hopefully, in this case, Witt\u2019s injury isn\u2019t serious, and he can find a way to get back on the field sooner rather than later.
