Anthony Head\u2019s unexpected death has led to a flurry of reactions and tributes from past co-stars.<\/p>\n
On Friday, Head\u2019s daughters Emily and Daisy informed the BBC that their father \u201cpassed away peacefully of complications due to pneumonia, surrounded by his family.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our extraordinary father,\u201d they shared in a statement<\/a>. \u201cIt has been, and forever will be, an honour and a privilege to be his daughters, and to have witnessed firsthand the impact both he and his work have had on so many.\u201d<\/p>\n While Head\u2019s career was long, he became most known for playing Rupert Giles in Joss Whedon\u2019s beloved TV series \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer.\u201d He earned a return to the spotlight later in his career playing the reviled Rupert Mannion in Apple TV\u2019s \u201cTed Lasso.\u201d<\/p>\n The news of his death led to a number of his co-stars from both of his biggest shows sharing their condolences, tributes and memories.<\/p>\n Sarah Michelle Gellar \u2013 who starred as Buffy Summers in \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayers\u201d \u2013 began her tribute with a quote from the show. \u201cTell Giles I figured it out and I\u2019m ok.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWell I don\u2019t have it figured out and I\u2019m not ok,\u201d Gellar wrote on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cBut I know I\u2019m the lucky one because I knew you. Thank you to Daisy and Emily who not only shared their dad with me, but with the world.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cRIP,\u201d David Boreanaz \u2013 who played Angel in \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer\u201d \u2013 said on his Instagram story<\/a>. \u201cHe was so kind and generous of a soul.\u201d<\/p>\n Brett Goldstein, who starred as Roy Kent in \u201cTed Lasso,\u201d also posted to his Instagram story<\/a> about Head, saying: \u201cAnthony Head was a brilliant actor who played the worst person in the world, which was an incredible skill because he was the best person. Infinitely charming and kind and fun and a joy. He will be sorely missed.
