British singer-songwriter Talay Riley<\/strong>, who wrote songs for artists including Dua Lipa<\/strong><\/a>, Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a> and Zendaya<\/strong><\/a>, was stabbed to death in London on Friday, June 5, the Metropolitan Police said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police were called early Friday to an address in Silvertown, east London, to attend to a suspected stabbing.<\/p>\n

Riley, real name Mark Orabiyi, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 35.<\/p>\n

A second man was taken to the hospital with multiple stab wounds, the Met Police said.<\/p>\n

Three suspects \u2014 two men aged 27 and 24 and a 25-year-old woman \u2014 were arrested on suspicion of murder, the department said. The 27-year-old man was released on bail pending further investigation. The other two people detained were released with no further action.<\/p>\n

\u201cMark was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He brought love, light, and joy to our family and to all who knew him,\u201d Riley\u2019s family said<\/a> in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will always cherish his kindness, beautiful spirit, and remarkable talent. His presence touched many lives, and his memory will remain in our hearts forever,\u201d the family added. \u201cMay his soul rest in perfect peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Riley\u2019s songwriting credits include Zendaya\u2019s song \u201cClose Up,\u201d Dua Lipa\u2019s \u201cLast Dance\u201d and Spears\u2019 \u201cClumsy.\u201d He has also written for the likes of U.K. rapper Stormzy<\/strong>, Craig David<\/strong>, Chris Brown<\/strong>, Khalid<\/strong> and more.<\/p>\n

Just before he went to sleep we spoke about the future, staying positive and about everything we still had left to do,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI never imagined that would be our last conversation. Yinka wasn\u2019t just my brother. He was my mother\u2019s son, a friend to many, a mentor, an inspiration, and a light in so many people\u2019s lives. He had one of the purest hearts I\u2019ve ever known. He loved deeply, gave freely, and touched countless people through his talent, kindness, and spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n
