{"id":2450406,"date":"2026-06-08T19:19:02","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T19:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2450406"},"modified":"2026-06-08T19:19:02","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T19:19:02","slug":"jenny-mollen-speaks-out-on-backlash-over-intimate-bed-photos-with-son-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/jenny-mollen-speaks-out-on-backlash-over-intimate-bed-photos-with-son-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Jenny Mollen speaks out on backlash over intimate bed photos with son, 12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Jenny Mollen defended the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/01\/parents\/jenny-mollen-called-out-for-posting-intimate-bed-pics-making-cringe-comment-about-dating-son\/\">intimate bed photos<\/a> she posted with her 12-year-old son, Sid, after receiving a wave of backlash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast week, the internet called me a child molester for posting a photo of myself holding my son,\u201d the actress <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/jennymollenbiggs.substack.com\/p\/the-love-that-breaks-us?has_completed_unsubscribed_unlock=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote in a Substack post<\/a> titled, \u201cThe Love That Breaks Us,\u201d on Monday. \u201cThe picture was taken on a Monday night after he returned from a weekend away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Mollen originally shared the photo to Instagram and Facebook, she wrote the caption, \u201cYour eldest son will be the most toxic boyfriend you ever have\u201d \u2014 which especially weirded out social media users. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Jenny Mollen defended the intimate bed photos she posted with her 12-year-old son, Sid, (seen above) after receiving backlash. <span class=\"credit\">Jenny Mollen\/Facebook<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cLast week, the internet called me a child molester for posting a photo of myself holding my son,\u201d the actress wrote in a Substack post Monday.  <span class=\"credit\">Jenny Mollen\/Facebook<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>But she also defended the caption on her Substack, writing it off as a \u201cjoke.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe joke that offended people was: \u2018Your eldest son will be the most toxic boyfriend you ever have.\u2019<br \/>And he is,\u201d she doubled down. \u201cParenthood has demanded a level of commitment and self-sacrifice from me that, in any other context, would be considered pathological.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d never accept this kind of relationship under any other circumstances,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd yet here I am, jumping through fire, constantly striving for affection and approval, waiting by the phone for a guy who can\u2019t even drive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comedian claimed that she\u2019s been \u201cmaking some version of this joke for over a decade,\u201d but recognized that her humor is \u201cnot for everyone.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>As for the caption to the bed photos that social media users called \u201ccreepy,\u201d the comedian (seen above with her sons last year) wrote if off as a joke. <span class=\"credit\">jennymollen\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cThe joke that offended people was: \u2018Your eldest son will be the most toxic boyfriend you ever have.\u2019<br \/>And he is,\u201d she doubled down.  <span class=\"credit\">Woman&#8217;s World\/ Youtube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhen I look at that picture, I see a 12-year-old boy who still wants his mother, and a woman trying to hold on to closeness and connection at a time in her life when everything else is changing,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the lengthy post, Mollen also shared that when she was 12, her mom told her \u201cshe didn\u2019t know how to be a mom anymore\u201d and was absent from her life ever since \u2014 a cycle she doesn\u2019t want to continue with her kids.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChildren can feel like our one opportunity at redemption in this lifetime,\u201d she explained. \u201cThey offer us the chance to become the very thing we need to save ourselves, instead of spending our lives waiting to be saved. But redemption is not the same as relief.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The mom of two (pictured with her kids and estranged husband, Jason Biggs, in 2024) maintained that she\u2019s been \u201cmaking some version of this joke for over a decade.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">jennymollen\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Mollen did acknowledge that her sense of humor might not be for everyone. <span class=\"credit\">jennymollen\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhen my kids were young, I was so overwhelmed. There was so much they needed that it felt almost impossible to catch my breath. I spent the last decade begging for five minutes alone, only to get exactly what I asked for. And it has broken my heart. It will break your heart, too.
