Jon Stewart has always been game for a tough interview, and though Elmo<\/a> might be safe, ‘Elmo’ is not.<\/p>\n

In the clip above the Daily Show<\/em><\/a> host recaps a controversial X post<\/a> from the beloved Sesame Street<\/em> character’s official account. On June 4, Elmo made a neutral comment on the NBA finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs, writing, “Elmo hopes both teams have fun!” In response, Knicks fans<\/a> demanded the New Yorker<\/a> “pick a side”<\/a> \u2014 and on Monday night, that included Stewart.<\/p>\n

To scrutinise the post, Stewart interviewed a knockoff ‘Elmo’ \u2014 one The Daily Show<\/em> has wheeled out during previous X post debacles<\/a>. Suffice to say this is not the Sesame Street<\/em> Elmo you know. It gets dark<\/em>.<\/p>\n
