Great songs transcend generations, geographies, and formats long after trends fade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <strong>Jody Gerson<\/strong>, <strong>UMPG<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>UMPG<\/strong> said the logo represents the four corners of the planet, standing for a worldwide community of songwriters and reflecting how its reach helps songs travel across borders and cultures.<\/p>\n<p>The circular space at the center of the logo can also serve as a camera frame for songwriters, <strong>UMPG<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<p>The identity is designed to unite <strong>UMPG<\/strong>\u2018s global teams and help each part of the business articulate its role in protecting and amplifying songwriters, the company said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UMPG<\/strong> said the identity also includes a purpose statement, which reads: \u201cUniversal Music Publishing Group exists to advance the collaborative, personal, human act of creating songs. We get songs heard. We get songwriters paid. Wherever songs go, We are a world ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new <strong>UMPG<\/strong> logo is accompanied by an abridged version of that tagline: \u201cWherever songs go, We\u2019re a world ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coinciding with the rollout, <strong>UMPG<\/strong> is launching a short-form video series, <em>Publishing 101<\/em>, beginning on <strong>June 16<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The videos feature members of <strong>UMPG<\/strong>\u2018s global team explaining aspects of the business, from A&amp;R and sync licensing to royalties and administration.<\/p>\n<p>New episodes will be posted each <strong>Tuesday<\/strong> at 9 a.m. PT across <strong>UMPG<\/strong>\u2018s digital and social platforms, including <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; Instagram [652 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/facebook\/instagram\/\">Instagram<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>TikTok<\/strong> and <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; YouTube [2,267 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/youtube\/\">YouTube<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The brand identity was developed with creative agency <strong>GrandArmy<\/strong>, which <strong>UMPG<\/strong> said has also worked with brands including <strong>A24<\/strong>, <strong>NPR<\/strong>, <strong>Adidas<\/strong> and <strong>Lonely Planet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UMPG<\/strong>\u2018s in-house Audio Branding team developed a sonic identity for the animated version of the logo.<\/p>\n<p>Accepting the International Executive of the Year award at MBW\u2019s Music Business UK Awards\u00a0in November, <strong>Gerson<\/strong> <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/jody-gerson-vows-to-protect-human-songwriters-in-the-age-of-ai-as-umpg-boss-accepts-international-executive-of-the-year-honor-at-mbws-music-business-uk-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said her \u201coverriding mission\u201d was to \u201cprotect human songwriters\u201d<\/a> amid the rise of AI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gerson<\/strong>\u2018s recent industry recognitions include the 2025 <strong>Grammy<\/strong> Salute to Industry Icons award and the <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; International Confederation of Music Publishers (ICMP) [53 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/international-confederation-of-music-publishers-icmp\/\">ICMP<\/a><\/strong> Ralph Peer II Award for Outstanding Contribution to Global Music Publishing.
