Actor Anthony Guidera<\/strong>, who appeared in movies like The Godfather Part III<\/i>, Armageddon<\/i> and Species<\/i>, has died at the age of 65.<\/p>\n

Anthony\u2019s wife, Valarie Guidera<\/strong>, confirmed the news to TMZ<\/span><\/a> on Tuesday, June 9, telling the publication that his heart stopped suddenly while the couple were at their Los Angeles home on May 11.<\/p>\n

Anthony was rushed to the hospital, where he was put on life support for three weeks.<\/p>\n

Doctors later took him off life support, per his prior directive, so he could be brought home for a natural death.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHollywood mourned the deaths of some of its most legendary stars in 2026. The year started off with Broadway performer and influencer Bret Hanna-Shuford\u2019s death at age 46. At the end of the month, comedy acting icon Catherine O\u2019Hara died at age 71. In February, Designing Women\u2019s Camilla Carr died at age 83, Dawson\u2019s Creek [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Valarie told TMZ that her husband died on Saturday, June 6. His cause of death has not been revealed and Anthony\u2019s wife said the doctors have no idea what made his heart stop.<\/p>\n

Born in San Francisco, Anthony moved to Paris and traveled around the world for about a decade while making commercials and modeling under the name James Guidera.<\/p>\n

His film career, however, took off in 1990 when he landed the role of a bodyguard (also named Anthony) in the third installment of the Godfather<\/i> trilogy.<\/p>\n

He later made cameo appearances on shows such as Baywatch<\/i> and Valley of the Dolls<\/i> before booking a role in the sci-fi horror film Species<\/i>. The project earned him an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss with his costar Natasha Henstridge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Outside of acting, Anthony and Valarie volunteered at a \u201cspiritual foundation\u201d in Palos Verdes Estates, California, called Astara. The actor\u2019s name is listed online<\/span><\/a> under the organization\u2019s volunteers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Astara\u2019s Reverend Anthony,\u201d the organization wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> on Saturday. \u201cWe are devastated and trying to breathe through the impossible, taking each moment as it comes. Please hold his eternal light in your hearts and his family in your prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Astara later conducted a special blessing and prayer during its weekly Sunday Sacred Space.<\/p>\n
