Ty Segall<\/a> has announced a new album,\u00a0Chrome<\/em>, out on August 28th via Drag City. He\u2019s also shared the album\u2019s first single, \u201cBlack Paint,\u201d and announced an additional EP, Love Fuzzz.<\/em><\/p>\n Chrome<\/em> serves as Segall\u2019s 18th studio album and follows 2025\u2019s Possession<\/em><\/a>. Like its title suggests, Segall\u2019s new project takes on a more metallic sonic direction, with a rougher sound hearkening back to his 2012 releases\u00a0Slaughterhouse\u00a0<\/em>and Twins<\/em>. He recorded the album with Cooper Crain at Sonic Ranch studios in Texas. Also set to be released the same day as\u00a0Chrome\u00a0<\/em>is his Love Fuzzz <\/em>EP, a limited release that will feature an alternate version of Segall\u2019s 2012 cut \u201cMy Pet Guru.\u201d<\/p>\n Get Ty Segall Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cBlack Paint,\u201d the first single off of\u00a0Chrome<\/em>, showcases the album\u2019s raw, fuzz-laden sound. The guitars are at gritty lows beneath Segall\u2019s soaring vocals, which are a little more pristine than the band\u2019s rock-heavy approach; it\u2019s got traces of Black Sabbath with a healthy dose of the slacker rock that Segall cut his teeth making. \u201cBlack Paint\u201d also arrives with a music video depicting Segall performing the song with his newly regrouped bandmates, Ben Boye, Evan Burrows, Mikal Cronin, and Emmett Kelly.
