Weapon<\/em>s stars Josh Brolin and Austin Abrams reunite in the Whalefal<\/em>l trailer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Abrams plays a young man whose dive to find his father’s remains leads him to be eaten by a whale.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The survival thriller opens Oct. 16 in theaters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Weapons<\/em> stars Josh Brolin<\/a> and Austin Abrams<\/a> have found something even scarier than a witch: a massive sperm whale.<\/p>\n The duo from last year’s Oscar-winning horror hit reunite in the trailer for the new survival thriller Whalefall<\/em>. In the first look at the adaptation of Daniel Kraus’ 2023 novel, Abrams’ dive into the Pacific Ocean goes about as badly as it can, considering he’s attacked by a giant squid, only to then be eaten by a giant whale.<\/p>\n Well, thankfully, his character’s father (Brolin) opens the trailer by declaring, “I can teach you things. I’m going to give you all the tools.” Who knows what tools you need for this type of occasion, but any and all will be appreciated!<\/p>\n Directed by Underwater<\/em> writer Brian Duffield, Whalefall<\/em> stars Abrams as Jay Gardiner, who goes diving off the central coast of California in search of his dad’s remains. Once swallowed by a sperm whale, he’s left with just one hour of oxygen in his tank. Abrams had a small part in the Brolin-led Gangster Squad<\/em>, but then they both had major roles in Zach Cregger’s Weapons<\/em>, in which they memorably faced off late in the film.<\/p>\n By the time of\u00a0Whalefall’<\/em>s release on Oct. 16, Abrams might be a full-blown movie star. The Euphoria<\/em> alum is set to reunite with Cregger as the star of the writer-director’s highly anticipated Resident Evil<\/em><\/a>, out Sept. 18.<\/p>\n
