Jon Stewart<\/a> had some choice words for Donald Trump<\/a> on Monday night (June 8) after the president stormed out<\/a> of a Meet the Press<\/em><\/a> interview with Kristen Welker<\/a> over the weekend.<\/p>\n The Daily Show<\/em><\/a> host opened Monday\u2019s episode by discussing the New York Knicks<\/a> and how Trump was set to attend Game 3 at Madison Square Garden later that night. \u201cEven the president of the United States has Knicks fever,\u201d Stewart said. \u201cHe\u2019s dyed his face Knicks orange and the back of his hands, Knicks\u2026 let\u2019s say\u2026 purple.\u201d<\/p>\n He then turned his attention to Meet the Press<\/em>, playing a clip of Trump calling NBC and other networks \u201ccrooked\u201d before getting up and leaving the interview while Welker pleaded with him to stay.<\/p>\n \u201cStorming out because you didn\u2019t like the question? Now, you could view this as the hissy fit of an incredibly fragile man-baby, whose paper-thin skin can\u2019t handle venturing out of the sycophantic embrace of his tongue-bathing acolytes, or\u2026 actually, I don\u2019t know how else you could view it,\u201d Stewart joked.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very sad,\u201d the comedian continued, \u201cbecause the interview began as a sort of romcom meet-cute.\u201d He then played a clip from earlier in the interview, in which Trump and Welker commented on the rain that could be heard from outside the farm, where the recording took place.<\/p>\n \u201cBut then, we get to a moment when the heartland rain-swept rom-com becomes a man trapped in a barn with his worst nightmare: A woman\u2026 who won\u2019t stop asking pertinent questions,\u201d Stewart added, highlighting how Welker pressed Trump on going back on his \u201cno wars\u201d promise.<\/p>\n That\u2019s when Trump decided the interview was over and stormed off. \u201cNow, we all know Trump\u2019s not actually going to leave the building because it\u2019s raining out,\u201d Stewart said. \u201cAnd, as you know, moisture is the natural enemy of the North American combover.\u201d<\/p>\n While Stewart praised Welker for pressing the president on his failed campaign promises, he also criticized her for pleading with Trump to stay and finish the interview. \u201cMr. President\u2026 I traveled all the way to Wisconsin,\u201d Welker said.<\/p>\n Mimicking Welker, Stewart joked, \u201cYou can\u2019t leave, sir. I was in business class. Business! Mr. President, please\u2026 Wisconsin. Wheel of Fortune is on an hour earlier here. These people are savages. Their Chinese restaurants only serve Sichuan, no Cantonese to be found. We\u2019ll all die of consumption.\u201d<\/p>\n He also slammed Welker\u2019s claim that the interview\u2019s frustrations stemmed from the weather.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat? You were inside! There was no challenge from the rain,\u201d Stewart stated. \u201cF*** that! No, Donald Trump was not thrown off by the ambient noise during the interview. In fact, ambient farm rain is the least disruptive noise environment he conducts interviews in.\u201d<\/p>\n Stewart added, \u201cHe wasn\u2019t aggravated by the rain. Donald Trump didn\u2019t storm out because of the rain; he stormed out because he was challenged, not because he was distracted. So maybe it\u2019s time we stop making excuses for that man in order to preserve access to his constant bull****.\u201d<\/p>\n
