X-Men<\/em><\/a> actor Tyler Mane<\/strong> is opening up about being diagnosed with a \u201csuper rare\u201d case of male breast cancer.<\/p>\n

Mane, 59, shared the news in an Instagram<\/a> video on Monday, June 8, revealing that he was starting chemotherapy.<\/p>\n

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a>, breast cancer among men is rare and usually makes up just one diagnosis among every 100 breast cancer diagnoses in America.<\/p>\n

\u201cYep. I have breast cancer. And yep, it\u2019s super rare. Only 1% of breast cancers are men,\u201d Mane wrote alongside his video.<\/p>\n

Mane continued, \u201cI\u2019ll be honest, my first reaction was to keep it secret. I mean it\u2019s kind of embarrassing. But then I found out that men are more likely to be diagnosed in advance [sic] stages BECAUSE it\u2019s not talked about and not looked for. In fact, my doctors all dismissed it, and it was only because my wife pushed me to get the lump removed that I got in early.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo let\u2019s start talking about it! 1 in 755 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and if caught early, it\u2019s VERY treatable,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

In a\u00a0video update<\/a> on Tuesday after his second chemotherapy session, the former professional wrestler said, \u201cI got this. F*** cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you so much for all the love, everyone. I greatly appreciate it,\u201d he wrote alongside the video. \u201cI got this. I\u2019m gonna kick cancer\u2018s ass. Thank you for coming along for the journey. We need to spread the awareness. Cancer sucks, but if you catch it quick enough, you can win this battle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mane first rose to fame playing Sabretooth in 2000\u2019s X-Men<\/em> and reprised the role in 2024 in Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em><\/a>. He also played Michael Myers in the 2007 reboot of Halloween<\/em>, as well as its 2009 sequel.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were shooting out in a rock quarry, and we\u2019re about, I don\u2019t know, 20, 30, feet away, and I saw him,\u201d Mane told BuzzFeed<\/a> in 2025 of reuniting with Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman<\/strong><\/a> on the Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em> set. \u201cHe saw me. We just kind of ran to each other and hugged each other like no time had passed. I was like, \u2018Oh man, this is so cool!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
