When it comes to poking some fun at the Chicago Bears<\/a>, is there ever a situation where it\u2019s too soon?<\/p>\n Not when you\u2019re in Green Bay, home of\u00a0Lambeau\u00a0Field.<\/p>\n Just hours after the Bears announced plans<\/a> to move forward with a new stadium in Hammond, Indiana,\u00a0WIXX-FM\u00a0on-air personality Andrew Haze<\/a> saw his chance and ran with it \u2013 right across state lines.<\/p>\n He was in his cubicle at the Green Bay contemporary hit radio station before his afternoon shift when the news dropped, and by the time he went on the air at 2\u00a0p.m., the world had “a new Chicago Bears fight song.” He used the tune \u201cGary, Indiana\u201d <\/a>from the musical \u201cThe Music Man\u201d for inspiration, and the parody practically wrote itself.<\/p>\n Just sub in \u201cHammond, Indiana\u201d for \u201cGary, Indiana\u201d for the irresistibly cheery chorus, recruit WIXX colleague Mara from the midday shift for some strategic chiming in here and there then work your magic with the lyrics:<\/p>\n \u201cIf you\u2019d like to have a logical explanation\/How the Bears became an Indiana installation\/I will say without a moment of hesitation\/Springfield fumbled, so we fled the state.\u201d<\/p>\n It was almost too easy.<\/p>\n \u201cWrote it in 5 minutes and then just went on the air and did it live,\u201d said Haze, who has worked at the station since 2022 and can be heard 2 to 6\u00a0p.m. weekdays. \u201cAnd yep, posted the video, and now I have a bunch of Bears fans that hate me.\u201d<\/p>\n
