Former Superman Dean Cain<\/strong><\/a> is facing backlash after shading Supergirl<\/em> star Milly Alcock.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Sunday, June 7, Cain, 59, reposted a photo of Alcock, 26, dressed as Supergirl with ear piercings.<\/p>\n

\u201cWait \u2026 if Supergirl\u2019s skin is bulletproof, how does she have ear piercings?\u201d the user wrote, to which Cain replied with a thinking face emoji.<\/p>\n

Cain went on to share a photo of Cha-Ka from the 1970s series Land of the Lost,<\/em> writing,

The first teaser for director James Gunn\u2018s new iteration of the beloved comic book character dropped on\u00a0Thursday, December 19. Twisters star David Corenswet takes on the cape as Superman (a.k.a. Clark Kent) while The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel alum Rachel Brosnahan portrays his coworker-turned-true-love, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cain continued, \u201cDang it\u2026 I laughed.\u201d<\/p>\n

After sharing the initial posts, Cain faced criticism<\/a> from several users in the comments section.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing an actor is a privilege, I enjoyed your superman role I grew up with it. I won\u2019t criticise your acting but this isn\u2019t it Dean. You were loved by hundreds of thousands around the world, shes a young kid getting into the business, show her the love they showed you,\u201d one user wrote, to which Cain replied, \u201cThey called me Sushi Man.\u201d<\/p>\n

The user responded, \u201cThey were wrong then, maybe I was young and ignorant to the abuse they wrongly sent your way, I was enjoying your superman role too much, but she\u2019s not them, be better than them, man. Bang out of order calling you that btw.\u201d<\/p>\n

When another user wrote, \u201cThing is, Millie Alcock isn\u2019t ugly. They just put out terrible pictures of her. Movie is gonna suck though,\u201d Cain replied, \u201cI never said she was ugly \u2013\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe DC movie universe will return to their roots by bringing the Man of Steel back to the big screen in Superman. The movie \u2014 originally titled Superman: Legacy \u2014 was announced in January 2023, just one month after Henry Cavill shared that he would no longer be portraying the beloved superhero. \u201cI have just [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cain took on the role of Clark Kent in the series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman<\/em>, which ran for four seasons from 1993 to 1997.<\/p>\n

Supergirl, meanwhile, is set to hit theatres<\/a> on June 26. The film is loosely based on Tom King<\/strong> and Bilquis Evely\u2019<\/strong>s acclaimed DC comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow<\/em> and follows Kal-El\u2019s cousin, Kara Zor-El (Alcock).<\/p>\n
