Gypsy Rose Blanchard <\/strong><\/a>is reflecting on what ex-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn<\/strong> said before killing her mother, Claudine \u201cDee Dee\u201d Blanchard<\/strong>, in 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe had asked, \u2018Who are you,\u2019\u201d Gypsy, 34, recalled during the \u201cWe Need to Talk\u201d podcast<\/a> episode released on Tuesday, June 9, detailing the night of her mom\u2019s murder. \u201cHe responded, \u2018I am death.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Gypsy noted that her version of events has been corroborated by court transcripts and Godejohn\u2019s conversations with his fellow inmates.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember her calling out for my name,\u201d she continued. \u201cI felt like I wanted to go and help her, but I was terrified at the same time. Like my body was paralyzed. I couldn\u2019t move.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gypsy said she was \u201cso focused on trying to breathe\u201d and \u201cblock\u201d out what was actually happening. During the episode, Gypsy recalled hearing \u201cscreaming\u201d coming from her mom.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a horrible sound. It was screaming,\u201d she added. \u201cIt was shock.\u201d<\/p>\n

The book, which hit shelves on Tuesday, December 10, details her relationship with Nicholas Godejohn, who is currently serving life in prison for his [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Gypsy said she hid in the bathroom and went into the \u201cfetal position\u201d while Godejohn was in the house.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just remember one sharp scream and then nothing after that,\u201d she added. \u201cThen I realized it was over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gypsy met Godejohn, 37, online before they formed a close-knit relationship, which eventually turned into a romance. She helped him plan the 2015 crime after years of alleged abuse by her mother, who was believed to have the psychological disorder known as Munchausen syndrome by proxy, where caregivers exaggerate or fabricate health issues for sympathy and attention. Dee Dee was 48 when she was stabbed to death by Godejohn.<\/p>\n

Gypsy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and in 2016 was sentenced to 10 years in prison. She was released in December 2023<\/a>. Godejohn, meanwhile, admitted to killing Dee Dee and was convicted of first-degree murder in 2018. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.<\/p>\n

After the murder, Gypsy said she was \u201cin a state of shock\u201d over what happened. She recalled waiting for Godejohn while \u201ccompletely naked\u201d in the bathroom.<\/p>\n
