Alaskan Bush People<\/em><\/a> alum Snowbird Brown<\/strong> is sharing an update on her family after brother Matt Brown<\/strong>\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, everybody knows by now that my family is going through a tragedy with the passing of Matt, and I just wanted to come on here and say thank you guys for all the condolences and prayers and well wishes I, especially, told my mom [Ami Brown<\/strong>],\u201d Snowbird, 31, said in a video shared via Instagram<\/a> on Wednesday, June 10.<\/p>\n

Snowbird revealed it\u2019s been a \u201ctough time\u201d for her entire brood in the wake of Matt\u2019s death<\/a>, but it has hit Ami, 62, \u201cthe most.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I just wanted to say, thank you guys for the kindness that everybody is sending. A lot of you guys have been with us for a long time, so \u2026 thank you for being here for this as well, being supportive and loving,\u201d she continued. \u201cI haven\u2019t been online a lot, just been taking time to myself. I think everybody needs that every once in a while, especially when you\u2019re going through things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snowbird reminded her followers \u2014 and herself \u2014 that \u201ceverybody grieves in their own way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t have to look the same on everybody. If your grief is different than somebody else\u2019s, it doesn\u2019t make it less important, it doesn\u2019t make it more or less meaningful,\u201d she shared. \u201cEverybody grieves in their own way, and never let somebody tell you your grief is wrong [or] you\u2019re grieving the wrong way. You need to show more emotion, you need to show less emotion. It\u2019s yours, you know how to grieve. Just let your body do what it needs to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt\u2019s brother Bear Brown<\/strong> confirmed his death at age 43 on May 30 after police in Okanogan County, Washington, conducted a search for an unidentified man who was spotted floating in the Okanogan River days before. Matt\u2019s brother Noah Brown<\/strong> was at the scene and identified the body.<\/p>\n

The Okanogan County Coroner\u2019s Office confirmed to Us Weekly<\/em> on June 3 that Matt died by suicide<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cKnowing that, like, Matt\u2019s not suffering anymore, he suffered for a long, long, long time, and he\u2019s not anymore, and that\u2019s what I believe,\u201d Snowbird said in her update on Wednesday. \u201cI believe he\u2019s not suffering, and he is in a better place, and that\u2019s what I\u2019ve been reminding my family, like I even told Mom, is that you have to remember the good times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snowbird said she and her family are still \u201cworking out the funeral arrangements,\u201d including the date and where it will be held.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t have anything set in stone right now, just because there are people who want to attend, and we\u2019re still figuring out who wants to attend and making sure that they can get here in time, and everything,\u201d she explained. \u201cSo, we\u2019re working out to make sure everybody can attend and arrive and work all that out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snowbird added that she \u201cprobably won\u2019t document the funeral,\u201d but some of her brothers might.<\/p>\n

\u201cFunerals are pretty, pretty difficult on their own,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t know, I can\u2019t say one way or another.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snowbird concluded by thanking everyone for their \u201ckindness and prayers and condolences.\u201d<\/p>\n
