LOS ANGELES \u2014 Choo-choo! Hold on to your wigs because \u201cStop! That! Train!\u201d hits theaters this weekend.<\/p>\n
The film follows Tess (Ginger Minj) and DeeDee (Jujubee), best friends and train stewardesses who trade their dreary shifts on the Stank Rail for the glitzy Glamazonian Express. The duo joins forces with the snobby first-class attendants (Symone, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Marcia Marcia Marcia) as a \u201cStormaganza\u201d threatens to derail the high-speed train and crash it into Florida.<\/p>\n
\u201cStop! That! Train!\u201d is one of the first wide-release feature films entirely fronted by drag queens, but film director Adam Shankman said the joke is not that they are drag queens; he wanted the joke to be the movie.<\/p>\n
After all, a drag queen is an actor.<\/p>\n
Symone told Spectrum News that the entire cast was excited to be part of the film and were not really thinking about the pressure surrounding \u201cStop! That! Train!\u201d \u2014 the first major feature film to come out of the \u201cDrag Race\u201d universe.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can\u2019t think about things like that,\u201d Brooke Lynn Hytes said. \u201cYou just need to go in, do the work, say \u2018yes and\u2019\u2026 and keep pushing it forward. Just let all the noise fly off\u2026 water off a duck\u2019s back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marcia told Spectrum News that the crew was supportive and excited to work on the project.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was never any doubt. You can\u2019t have doubt going into something like this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cStop! That! Train!\u201d comes out during Pride Month, and the cast shared with Spectrum News what it means for them this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it is more important now than it has been in a very long time,\u201d said Ginger Minj. \u201cPeople think of Pride as a celebration and a parade, and that\u2019s wonderful, but it\u2019s really a reminder of where we\u2019ve come from and how far we still have to go.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cPride, of course, is a celebration, but it started as a protest,\u201d said Jujubee. \u201cAnd \u2018Stop! That! Train!\u2019 is a declaration that people like us and our art is here to stay. For the kids out there that can see us on the big screen\u2026 it gives them hope, and that\u2019s what we are here to do. We want you to laugh, and we want you to have hope because we are going to be okay.\u201d<\/p>\n
