The question of who will play the next Bond girl is a hot one right now. While some may be the favorite, several stars like Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and others make a strong case for the role.<\/p>\n
Currently, little is known about the upcoming James Bond movie, including who will even be Bond himself. The highly anticipated movie that ushers us into the new era of Bond will be directed by Dune filmmaker\u00a0Denis Villeneuve<\/a>, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writing the screenplay. The studio is expected to make a final casting decision sometime this year. Production will reportedly begin in 2027, just in time for its\u00a0rumored 2028 release<\/a>.<\/p>\n While it\u2019s unclear what the next Bond movie will feature, there are some staples likely to return. This includes the concept of the \u201cBond girl,\u201d a role traditionally played by a beautiful actress of the time to either be Bond\u2019s love interest, or, in recent movies during the Daniel Craig era, a partner or fellow agent that helps him out during missions. For some time, Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney was often cited by fans as a perfect option, and still is.<\/p>\n However, three other stars make a very compelling case for the role. On the prediction market website Kalshi, the question of \u201cwho will play the next Bond girl\u201d has some interesting predictions. It should be taken with a grain of salt, of course, but currently, the trio of Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Anya Taylor-Joy all take up three of the top 10 spots on the list.<\/p>\n While the three are surprising names compared to the likes of Sydney Sweeney or Margaret Qualley (another popular name for a Bond girl), they aren\u2019t too shocking. All three actress have a long history with Villeneuve, with all three having starred in the Dune franchise, which Villeneuve has been director for the last five years.<\/p>\n All three are also superstar-level actors, and casting them in the upcoming Bond movie would no doubt be a major boost to the star power in the film. All three are also no stranger to large franchises and the pressure that come with them. In the case of Zendaya and Pugh, both are well-versed in action roles as well, and could take on the role of a partner or agent very well. Of course, it\u2019s unknown if any of the three would be interested, especially considering their relative star power and demand across Hollywood.<\/p>\n Currently, Kalshi has Taylor-Joy as the highest odds of the three to be the next Bond girl, close to Sweeney and Qualley as the top pick. Any of the five would be great choices, of course, but it fully depends on what Amazon MGM Studios has in mind for the next movie.
