<\/p>\n
Directed by Jiten Ramial, the video combines live performance footage with documentary-style scenes captured during Carver\u2019s appearance at the Splashy Fen Music Festival in the Drakensberg. The production focuses on aspects of touring that are rarely featured in music videos, including travel, rehearsals, backstage preparations and post-performance routines.<\/p>\n
Carver said the project was inspired by a desire to portray the realities of life beyond the stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never released a music video that truly captures what it feels like to be a touring artist,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople see the glamour of standing on stage, but there are all these little moments in between \u2013 the conversations with your band, the anxiety before walking on stage, the relief afterwards, the laughter backstage, the quietness the next morning. I wanted to show all of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The artist said the opportunity to perform on the festival\u2019s main stage for the first time provided an ideal setting for documenting the experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery detail matters,\u201d Carver said. \u201cThe dress I choose, the songs we decide to play, the preparation, the energy backstage, even the drive there. I realised Splashy Fen would be the perfect backdrop to capture all the elements that go into being a live performer.\u201d<\/p>\n
The video was filmed using a fast-paced documentary approach that blends footage from the road, backstage areas and live performances. Carver, who has previously worked with Ramial, said their established relationship contributed to the project\u2019s development.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love the way Jiten shoots,\u201d she said. \u201cThere\u2019s a pace and honesty to the way he tells stories. He captures things that feel lived-in and real.\u201d<\/p>\n
The production also features members of Carver\u2019s touring and creative team, including guitarist and producer Simz Kulla, drummer Denholm Harding and publicist Melissa Conradie.<\/p>\n
Carver highlighted her longstanding professional relationship with Kulla, describing the trust developed through years of collaboration.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe travel everywhere together,\u201d she said. \u201cHe\u2019s not only my guitarist and sometimes producer \u2014 we have our own language on stage and on the road. There\u2019s a huge amount of trust between us and knowing we always have each other\u2019s backs is everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
The video also includes footage from recording sessions at Audio Militia studio, where Carver worked on recent projects, including her album Dark Secrets.<\/p>\n
\u201cAudio Militia has played such an important role in my life and music, especially around my recent SAMA win,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
According to Carver, \u2018My Love\u2019 serves as a reflection on the people and experiences that have shaped her career.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a video I\u2019m incredibly proud of because it shows a real slice of my life,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen I look around at the people in it and the adventures we\u2019re having together, I like what I see. It reminds me that I\u2019m genuinely enjoying the journey.\u201d<\/p>\n
