CEO Jeff Shultz\u2019s efforts to reposition Radial Entertainment for the future of streaming continue with the appointment of Brendon Thomas, another former top Paramount executive, as chief revenue officer.<\/p>\n

Thomas, most recently SVP of distribution and business development at Paramount Global, will lead revenue generation across the company\u2019s library, recent acquisitions, and expanding global content portfolio. He\u00a0will set Radial\u2019s overall revenue strategy and align key revenue-generating functions across distribution, licensing, advertising, business development, and new market expansion.<\/p>\n

Thomas reports directly to Shultz, who took the helm of Radial late last year, a few months after the company was formed by Oaktree Capital Management to manage the Shout! Studios and FilmRise brands. Shultz had been Paramount Global\u2019s chief strategy and business development officer and was one of several high-profile executives to leave the media giant after its sale to Skydance Media.<\/p>\n

Shultz joined Paramount in 2019 through what was then Viacom\u2019s acquisition of pioneering FAST platform Pluto TV. As chief business officer of Pluto TV, he had guided the company from a startup to a profitable, billion-dollar global market leader. Working\u00a0alongside fellow Pluto TV exec Tom Ryan, Shultz oversaw the company\u2019s global direct-to-consumer strategy and partnership portfolio during the launch of Paramount+ and the growth of global streaming revenue to more than $7.5 billion.<\/p>\n

Shultz and Thomas have been working together since Thomas joined Pluto TV in 2015. Thomas also came onboard when Viacom bought Pluto and helped scale the platform to more than 80 million users while negotiating key FAST partnerships that helped Pluto cross $1 billion in annual revenue by 2021. As SVP of distribution and business development, Thomas led partnerships with major OEMs and platforms across Paramount+, Pluto TV, Showtime, BET+, and more, representing $8 billion in annual revenue.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrendon and I have built together for nearly a decade,\u201d Shultz said. \u201cHe led our most important distribution deals and strategic partnerships at Paramount and he\u2019s the best commercial operator I know. There was no one else I wanted in this seat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thomas added, \u201cIndependent content libraries are entering their most valuable era \u2014 platforms need scale, advertisers want premium AVOD inventory, and global FAST is still in early innings. Radial has the catalog, the distribution leadership, and the platform relationships to win this moment. My focus is on accelerating the revenue engine the team has built to put Radial at the forefront of our industry\u2019s transformation.
