Paramount+ has released the first trailer for Lioness<\/em> season 3.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The Taylor Sheridan series returns on Aug. 2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Zoe Salda\u00f1a goes to war in the new look at the spy thriller.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Lioness<\/em><\/a> is finally back with the start of a new fight.<\/p>\n More than 18 months after the action-packed season 2 finale, the Taylor Sheridan<\/a> series gave a first look at season 3 on Thursday with an explosive trailer.<\/p>\n “I’m scared for you,” Neal (Dave Annable) tells his wife, CIA officer Joe (Zoe Salda\u00f1a<\/a>). “I’m scared that we became this world.”<\/p>\n Joe, ever the realist, retorts, “The world didn’t become this way \u2014 it’s always been this way.”<\/p>\n During the first two seasons, Joe recruited two new lionesses \u2014 Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira) and Josie (Genesis Rodriguez) \u2014 to go undercover in the team’s latest war on terror. A mission at the end of season 2 put Joe and company at risk, to the point that they were preparing to sacrifice themselves rather than be captured. Thankfully, backup arrived before it came to that. With many of her colleagues injured, Joe returned to D.C. and reunited with Neal.<\/p>\n “If I was in Neal’s shoes, I don’t know if I would stay, if I would be this accepting,” Salda\u00f1a recently told Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a>. “And that’s the tension that Joe always has to keep at home between her and Neal. Aided by CIA deputy director Westfield (Michael Kelly) and her boss and mentor Kaitlyn (Nicole Kidman<\/a>), Joe confronts enemies operating in the shadows, forcing her to reckon with a war that now reaches into every part of her life.<\/p>\n “There’s just so much that is constantly being asked of Joe,” Salda\u00f1a shared<\/a>. “I had various conversations with Taylor in terms of where he was gonna take it, and I really am so happy and so proud of the direction that he eventually took for Joe. It was very demanding, I’m not gonna lie. [Laughs<\/em>] And I didn’t even know if I was gonna be able to pull it off.
