The Kansas City Royals will be without center fielder Kyle Isbel for the foreseeable future due to a left foot injury.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Isbel was diagnosed with a Grade 3 tear of a portion of his left plantar fasciitis<\/a>. He aggravated the injury while rounding first base in Tuesday\u2019s game against the Texas Rangers at Kauffman Stadium.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Isbel began limping as he got aboard with a single. He knelt on the base before walking slowly toward the Royals\u2019 dugout.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it was like my first step past the base,\u201d Isbel said. \u201cKind of tried to turn it on and get a double and felt it in my foot.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Royals placed Isbel on the 10-day injured list<\/a> Wednesday. Now, he will begin the long road to recovery.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s just getting the inflammation down,\u201d Isbel said. \u201cAnd then, there\u2019s not just really like a timetable on it. It\u2019s more like symptoms-based.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Isbel played through the injury. He managed it for a few weeks, but it got progressively worse.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cJust a lot of pressure in the bottom of the foot,\u201d Isbel said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Royals recalled outfielder Kameron Misner<\/a> from Triple-A Omaha. He was recently named the International League Player of the Week after recording five home runs for the Storm Chasers.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Misner will be in the center-field mix alongside Lane Thomas and Tyler Tolbert. This offseason, the Royals acquired Misner in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He also was in the starting lineup Thursday, batting seventh and playing in center. This week marks his first time suiting up with the Royals after growing up in Popular Bluff, Missouri.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cIt kind of means everything,\u201d Misner said of his promotion. \u201cI grew up in Missouri and went to college at Mizzou. Now, I\u2019m playing professionally in Missouri. So it\u2019s kind of hard to beat.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This season, Isbel is hitting .244 with three homers and 11 RBIs. He has appeared in 56 games with the club.<\/p>\n
