The team behind Amazon Prime Video\u2019s Off Campus<\/em><\/a> has pleaded with fans to stop \u201ctargeted harassment\u201d of the cast following Mika Abdalla<\/strong>\u2019s split from fianc\u00e9 Jake Short<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Off Campus<\/em> community is built on a shared love of storytelling \u2014 and on respect for the real people who bring it to life,\u201d the show\u2019s official X account<\/a> shared on Thursday, June 11. \u201cWe ask that everyone in this space extend that respect to our cast and the people in their lives. Accounts that engage in targeted harassment will be removed from following our accounts.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement comes days after Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively reported that Off Campus<\/em> star Abdalla, 26, had ended her engagement to Short,<\/a> 29, after five years together.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to recent interest in Mika\u2019s personal life, it would feel remiss to not address that her and Jake are no longer together,\u201d a rep for Abdalla told Us<\/em> on June 1. \u201cThey continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following news of the split, a 2024 clip of Abdalla and Short on the latter\u2019s \u201cThe Sit and Chat\u201d podcast resurfaced online<\/a>. Fans believed that Short disparaged Abdalla in the footage.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve seen a conversation around clips of us together when we were in a relationship, and people making harmful and inaccurate assumptions about our dynamic,\u201d the exes told Us<\/em> in a joint statement after the podcast clip went viral. \u201cWe were in a loving, respectful relationship for five years [and] it\u2019s hurtful to see playful moments dissected in a way that does not reflect the respect and love we had and still have for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Short further addressed his comments about Abdalla<\/a> in a statement via his Instagram Stories.<\/p>\n

\u201cI made a disrespectful, juvenile joke in a clip that recirculated this week,\u201d the Disney Channel alum wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s imperative to me that I take accountability, as I am aware that it was inappropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n
