Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s song<\/a> \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d<\/a> was a surprise for production members of Toy Story 5<\/a>, who were unaware that the megastar contributed a track for the upcoming film.<\/p>\n Variety reports<\/a> that the film\u2019s VFX supervisor, Thomas Jordan, discussed the song\u2019s origins during a panel at SXSW London on Friday (June 5). Apparently, Jordan had known about Swift\u2019s tune since February, long before most of the team.<\/p>\n \u201cTurns out, Taylor Swift is a huge \u2018Toy Story\u2019 fan like many of us,\u201d Jordan said during the event. \u201cShe actually saw an early version of the film, she requested to see it before it was finished and she wrote the song and then asked us if we wanted it. And we said, \u2018Uh, yes! Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n The VFX supervisor explained that \u201ca very small group\u201d of Toy Story 5 team members knew about \u201cI Knew It.\u201d To keep the secret while showing the movie to early press and Pixar-Disney staff, a \u201cdecoy version\u201d of TS5 had to be created.<\/p>\n \u201cThe crew that made \u2018Toy Story 5\u2019 did not know about this secret until last week,\u201d Jordan revealed.<\/p>\n Penning a song for the fifth installment of the Toy Story franchise was a dream come true for the 14-time Grammy winner, who posted an Instagram dedication to the movie this week.<\/p>\n \u201cWriting this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time,\u201d Swift captioned. \u201cCreating something for [Toy Story character] Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once.
