Spencer Pratt <\/strong><\/a>is speaking out after the results were confirmed for the Los Angeles mayoral election.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre they done counting yet?\u201d Pratt, 42, wrote via X<\/a> on Thursday, June 11, in reference to the lengthy process of counting votes in Los Angeles County.<\/p>\n

While the official answer is no, news broke on Sunday, June 7, that Los Angeles City Council member Nithya Raman<\/strong> leapfrogged Pratt behind incumbent<\/a> Karen Bass,<\/strong> whose place in the November runoff was already cemented as polls closed on Tuesday, June 2. As a result, Raman, 44, and Bass, 72, will face off in an election later this year.<\/p>\n

Pratt announced earlier this year that he would be running for Los Angeles mayor after his and wife Heidi Montag<\/strong>\u2019s home in the Pacific Palisades was destroyed in the 2025 California wildfires. (Pratt and Montag, who tied the knot in 2009, share two sons.)<\/p>\n

The Hills alum, 42, competed against incumbent Karen Bass and a slew of others when Los Angeles voters hit the polls on June 2, 2026. Under California primary rules, Bass needed more than 50 percent of the primary [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe system in Los Angeles isn\u2019t struggling; it\u2019s fundamentally broken,\u201d Pratt said while revealing his campaign during the \u201cThey Let Us Burn\u201d public demonstration. \u201cIt is a machine designed to protect the people at the top and the friends they exchange favors with while the rest of us drown in toxic smoke and ash. Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I\u2019m done waiting for someone to take real action.\u201d<\/p>\n

One month before the primary election, Pratt got candid about why he would make a great mayor despite his background in reality TV.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat people want from me is somebody to tell them the truth. I [know] what it feels like when you\u2019re the victim of the city\u2019s failures \u2014 whether your house burned down or you were attacked or robbed, or you lost your job because restaurants have closed and Hollywood has failed or you\u2019ve stepped on human poop and there\u2019s a crazy, naked drug addict in front of your kids at the park. I\u2019m not going to let this happen anymore,\u201d he told Us Weekly in his May cover story.<\/p>\n

In Pratt\u2019s mind, \u201cthe only edge that reality TV and fame\u201d gave him in the race \u201cis just to prepare for the amount of negativity<\/a> and threats.\u201d<\/p>\n
