Ariana Grande<\/a> was crystal clear in the White House\u2019s comments section on TikTok. <\/p>\n

The \u201cWe Can\u2019t Be Friends\u201d hitmaker didn\u2019t mince words on Thursday when she commented on a White House TikTok: \u201cPlease do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. F\u2014 ice,\u201d she wrote in her comment.<\/p>\n

The TikTok in question<\/a>, posted by the White House on Tuesday, promoted the administration\u2019s crackdown on immigration and featured Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers handcuffing various people to the tune of the Grammy-winner\u2019s song \u201cBye.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBye-bye \ud83d\udc4b President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history,\u201d the caption on the video read. Grande\u2019s comment has since been deleted or hidden from the video\u2019s replies, and the sound on the TikTok has been disabled. <\/p>\n

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson responded to Grande\u2019s comment in an emailed statement to The Times, writing, \u201cWe\u2019ll say this one last time: what\u2019s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grande joins a slew of prominent musicians and artists who have told the Trump administration to cease using their tunes to promote his agenda. <\/p>\n

On the 2024 presidential campaign trail, Beyonc\u00e9 endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a>, who used Queen Bey\u2019s song \u201cFreedom\u201d as a rally anthem. When a spokesman for Trump used the same song in a social media post, the mega star\u2019s team responded swiftly with a cease-and-desist. <\/p>\n

During a 2024 Montana rally, Trump\u2019s team played a video clip using \u201cMy Heart Will Go On,\u201d the theme song from the 1997 film \u201cTitanic.\u201d Celine Dion\u2019s management team and record label responded with a statement shooting down the song\u2019s use: \u201cIn no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. \u2026 And really, THAT song?\u201d<\/p>\n

And then, of course, when Trump used Bruce Springsteen\u2019s \u201cBorn in the U.S.A.\u201d on the 2016 campaign trail without the artist\u2019s permission, the American rocker responded by endorsing Hillary Clinton and calling Trump a \u201cmoron.\u201d <\/p>\n

Add to the list Nancy Sinatra, who posted that Trump\u2019s nod to Frank Sinatra\u2019s song \u201cMy Way\u201d was \u201csacrilege\u201d; the Smiths\u2019 former guitarist Johnny Marr, who said, \u201cConsider this s\u2014 shut right down right now,\u201d when the band\u2019s song was used at a 2023 Trump rally; Sabrina Carpenter, who slammed the use of her song in a video, calling it \u201cevil\u201d; and many, many, many more.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
