A friend of King Charles<\/a> has revealed how the monarch feels about Prince Harry<\/a>\u2019s Invictus Games event coming back to the UK next year. The Duke of Sussex founded the Invictus Games for wounded Servicemen and veterans in 2014, after serving in the British Army.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Next month, he is expected to return to the UK to attend a one-year-to-go event for next year\u2019s Birmingham event. Reports have speculated on whether any members of the Royal Family will attend the event and what the King thinks of it. Now, a source close to the monarch has reportedly revealed his true thoughts on Harry\u2019s passion project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to the Daily Mail<\/a>, the King is \u201ckeen to show his support\u201d for the Invictus Games. A friend of Charles said: \u201cLike the rest of the Royal Family, His Majesty believes that Invictus is a very worthy cause.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe hopes that the Games will be a big success for Birmingham next year and is aware that a lot of taxpayers\u2019 money has been spent on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It comes as Harry was named by Time magazine as one of the world\u2019s 100 most influential people in sports in 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Appearing first on the list, Harry is praised for founding the Invictus Games in 2014, his passion project for wounded Servicemen and veterans, after serving in the British Army.

The Duke told the magazine: \u201cI thought, \u2018Wow, look at the power of sport, look at how it is literally changing lives in front of my very eyes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was so clear to me. Let’s invite as many countries as possible to make it international, because clearly more countries need to benefit from this.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He added: \u201cWhen you are wearing your nation’s flag on your arm, on your chest, once that’s removed, there’s something that’s missing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
