The Kansas City Royals<\/a> will be without center fielder Kyle Isbel<\/a> for the foreseeable future due to a left foot injury.<\/p>\n On Thursday, Isbel was diagnosed with a Grade 3 tear of a portion of his left plantar fasciitis<\/a>. He aggravated the injury while rounding first base in Tuesday’s game against the Texas Rangers<\/a> at Kauffman Stadium.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Isbel began limping as he got aboard with a single. He knelt on the base before walking slowly toward the Royals’ dugout.<\/p>\n “I think it was like my first step past the base,” Isbel said. “Kind of tried to turn it on and get a double and felt it in my foot.”<\/p>\n The Royals placed Isbel on the 10-day injured list<\/a> Wednesday. Now, he will begin the long road to recovery.<\/p>\n “Yeah, it’s just getting the inflammation down,” Isbel said. “And then, there’s not just really like a timetable on it. It’s more like symptoms-based.”<\/p>\n Isbel played through the injury. He managed it for a few weeks, but it got progressively worse.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n “Just a lot of pressure in the bottom of the foot,” Isbel said.<\/p>\n The Royals recalled outfielder Kameron Misner<\/a> from Triple-A Omaha. He was recently named the International League Player of the Week after recording five home runs for the Storm Chasers.<\/p>\n Misner will be in the center-field mix alongside Lane Thomas<\/a> and Tyler Tolbert<\/a>. This offseason, the Royals acquired Misner in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a>.<\/p>\n He also was in the starting lineup Thursday, batting seventh and playing in center. This week marks his first time suiting up with the Royals after growing up in Popular Bluff, Missouri.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n “It kind of means everything,” Misner said of his promotion. “I grew up in Missouri and went to college at Mizzou. Now, I’m playing professionally in Missouri. So it’s kind of hard to beat.”<\/p>\n This season, Isbel is hitting .244 with three homers and 11 RBIs.
