On Thursday (11.06.26), the E4 show’s relationship expert told his Instagram followers how Jill came out of the procedure not “coherent”, unable to talk, and relying on a fentanyl button for pain relief – but she ditched it and reached out for her husband’s hand when Jill saw Paul by her bedside.<\/p>\n
Paul, 51, posted a shot of Jill holding his hand from her hospital bed, with the caption: “Yesterday, Jill came out of surgery with a fentanyl button in her hand.<\/p>\n
“The nurses told me she\u2019d been pressing it constantly for pain relief. She wasn\u2019t coherent. Couldn\u2019t talk. Barely knew what was going on.<\/p>\n
“I was standing in her room waiting when they wheeled her back in. The moment she opened her eyes and saw me, she dropped the button.<\/p>\n
\n“Then she reached for my hand. And she didn\u2019t let go. She lay there holding my hand until she fell asleep.”<\/p>\n
\nThe TV personality continued: “I haven\u2019t been able to stop thinking about that moment.<\/p>\n
\n“Of all the things she could have reached for in that moment, she reached for me. Not because love takes the pain away.<\/p>\n
\n“It doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n
\n“But sometimes, the greatest comfort isn\u2019t relief from the pain. It\u2019s knowing you don\u2019t have to carry it alone (sic).”<\/p>\n
\nPaul did not reveal the reason for Jill’s surgery.<\/p>\n
\nHis celebrity pals and fans flooded the post’s comments section with love and support.<\/p>\n
\nPaul’s fellow Celebs Go Dating relationship expert Anna Williamson, 44, penned: “I hope she\u2019s doing ok P, give her a big kiss and the recovery will absolutely get easier. Sending you a hug too xx (sic).”<\/p>\n
\nLoose Women panellist Coleen Nolan, 61, who took part in the 2026 series of Celebs Go Dating, typed: “This is just beautiful\u2026 thinking of you and sending so much love to you all.”<\/p>\n
\nAnd singer Tulisa Contostavlos, 37, wrote: “We love you Paul sending prayers + love (sic).”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, one of Paul’s followers reacted: “This is just perfectly put. Thank you. And you are her safe space x x x (sic).”<\/p>\n
\nA second supporter commented: “If anyone can heal and recover it\u2019s gotta be Jill!!! Such an incredible, strong and caring person! (sic).”<\/p>\n
\nAnd a third fan said: “Praying for our good sis Jill. Sending her all the love and great healing vibes (sic).”<\/p>\n
\nPaul and Jill have been married since 2000, and they have sons, Kingston, 15, and Liam, 12, together.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
