A bombshell new \u00e9xpos\u00e9 claims that Alex Cooper<\/b>\u2019s husband, Matt Kaplan<\/b><\/a>, has fostered an allegedly \u201ctoxic work environment\u201d at The Unwell Network.<\/p>\n

\u201cBehind the scenes, there\u2019s this man, her husband, running around wreaking havoc and making people cry, cower [in] fear,\u201d an anonymous Unwell freelancer claimed to Vanity Fair<\/i><\/span><\/a> in a Friday, June 12, report, with another source alleging that Kaplan, 42, has berated young female employees for miniscule mistakes to the point of tears.<\/p>\n

Another former employee claimed that Kaplan screams \u201cthe nastiest things\u201d to staffers while Cooper, 31, has stood beside him, \u201cnot defending anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooper launched Unwell in 2023 with Kaplan, whom she married in 2024, after becoming the sole owner of the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast. (Cooper initially cohosted the podcast with Sofia Franklyn <\/b>under Barstool Sports\u2019 umbrella.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThings at Alex Cooper\u2019s Unwell Network appear to be, well, unwell, according to a new report. A Bloomberg article published on Monday, April 20, alleged that Cooper\u2019s podcast network has seen a dramatic turnover in staff over the past two years. The piece also claimed that Cooper\u2019s husband, film and TV producer Matt Kaplan, who [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Neither Cooper nor Kaplan, who are currently expecting their first baby<\/span><\/a>, have publicly addressed the accusations. Us Weekly <\/i>has reached out for comment.<\/p>\n

A source close to Cooper tells Us<\/i>, \u201c[The Vanity Fair <\/i>reporter] has a clear agenda here and has since she began reporting this story. She went to great lengths to get dirt for this story, but doesn\u2019t include any mention of how many people spoke positively about Unwell, Matt and Alex.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lengthy Vanity Fair <\/i>profile interviewed multiple former Unwell employees, many who claimed that Kaplan made staffers cry or appeared to make flirtatious comments by openly asking about their sex lives. Vanity Fair\u00a0<\/i>did not interview any Unwell staffer on record.\u00a0Us\u00a0<\/em>reached out to the reporter for comment.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ve heard him in the office be like to employees, \u2018Who did you have sex with this weekend?\u2019\u2009\u201d a former employee alleged, as others claim that Kaplan also comments on staffers he finds \u201chot\u201d versus overweight.<\/p>\n

\u201c[He] was definitely a flirty guy, but [I] can\u2019t say that I felt uncomfortable,\u201d another woman claimed, with another adding they would \u201ccry every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooper and Kaplan are business partners<\/a> at Unwell.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Unwell started, it was so different than what it is today,\u201d Cooper explained on a March episode of the \u201cBurnouts\u201d podcast<\/span><\/a>, whose own contract at Unwell recently ended. \u201cWhen it started, at its core, it was just this little media company where Matt and I were merging our companies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kaplan ran a film and TV production company amid his early relationship with Cooper. Instead of selling the firm, he opted to merge with Cooper as she launched her podcast studio.<\/p>\n
