Back in May we learned of the latest album from Garrett Burke, the Philly producer and percussionist known as Gloorp. It’s out in July, and pleasingly, it’s called Gloorp Life<\/em>. (The last one was called Gloorp ‘Em Up<\/em>. This guy is good at naming things.) <\/p>\n Today, Gloorp follows lead single “Jeggings<\/a>” with “Ice Bath,” a new collaboration with Chasia Dokos from Chemical, who have their own new EP<\/a> on the way. Danny Murillo adds additional percussion. Like the prior Gloorp track, “Ice Bath” is a playful electronic oddity \u2014 post-Aphex, post-Matmos, post-Sophie, post-everything. <\/p>\n “Versions of this song can be heard in live sets from well over a year ago, but it really came together when I relinquished control to my collaborators,” Burke says. “Namely, Chasia’s gibberish mumblings and Danny’s deliberate production methods. I don’t remember how I made the percussion sounds, but they sound like mouth sounds to me.”<\/p>\n Listen below.<\/p>\n
