One of the King\u2019s most trusted protection officers has released
\nan emotional statement after bringing to a close a policing career
\nspanning more than three decades.<\/p>\n
Jagjivan Singh Khangura MVO, known to colleagues and friends as
\n\u201cJag\u201d, recently stepped down following more than 30 years of
\nservice with the Metropolitan Police, including over two decades
\nwithin Royalty and Specialist Protection.<\/p>\n
Mr Khangura, who until recently served as King Charles III\u2019s
\npersonal head of security, said he was leaving with \u201cthe happiest
\nof memories\u201d after a career dedicated to protecting the Royal
\nFamily and the public.<\/p>\n
In a statement following his retirement, he said: \u201cIt\u2019s been a
\nprivilege to serve and represent my colleagues and my community in
\nrole.<\/p>\n
\u201cI leave with the happiest of memories and the utmost respect
\nfor all those that serve and sacrifice for King and country.\u201d<\/p>\n
The remarks offer a rare glimpse into the thoughts of a man who
\nspent much of his professional life working behind the scenes, away
\nfrom public attention, while overseeing the security of the
\nMonarch.<\/p>\n
The Metropolitan Police paid tribute to Mr Khangura\u2019s
\ndistinguished service, describing his contribution as
\nexceptional.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson said he had delivered more than 30 years of
\noutstanding policing service, including over 20 years within
\nRoyalty and Specialist Protection.<\/p>\n
His work supporting the Royal Household was praised as being of
\n\u201cthe highest standard\u201d, demonstrating professionalism, discretion
\nand a deep commitment to public safety.<\/p>\n
Among the most significant events of his career were the funeral
\nof Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022 and the Coronation of King
\nCharles III the following year.<\/p>\n
The Metropolitan Police said Mr Khangura played a critical role
\nin planning and delivering security for both historic occasions,
\nhelping to ensure the safety of those involved while maintaining
\npublic confidence during events of immense national importance.<\/p>\n
His leadership was also credited with strengthening specialist
\npolicing capabilities through his commitment to operational
\nexcellence, collaboration and the development of future
\nofficers.<\/p>\n
