Frogmore Cottage is set to undergo yet another renovation following Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a>\u2018s \u00a32.4m ($2.9m) refurbishment of the property before they stepped down as working members of the royal family.<\/p>\n The royal family is reportedly set to erase<\/a> the final traces of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from the cottage.<\/p>\n In 2023 King Charles <\/a>officially evicted the couple from Frogmore Cottage and it has been vacant ever since. <\/p>\n The former Prince Andrew<\/a> was offered the use of the house after he was stripped of his titles and evicted from his 30-room mansion Royal Lodge, but he declined.<\/p>\n A source told the Sun<\/a><\/em>, \u201cIt\u2019s been empty for three years. Now it has been speculated that Frogmore Cottage will be subdivided into multiple apartments once more.<\/p>\n Frogmore House was the couple\u2019s marital home and is where their 7-year-old son Prince Archie spent the first few months of his life.<\/p>\n Following the publication of Harry\u2019s bombshell memoir Spare<\/em>, King Charles officially requested that the Sussexes vacate the house.<\/p>\n In 2022 Meghan revealed in an interview that it had been \u201csurreal\u201d <\/a>to return to Frogmore Cottage in order to collect her remaining belongings.<\/p>\n \u201cYou go back and you open drawers and you\u2019re like,\u00a0Oh my gosh. Davis in The Cut<\/em>.<\/p>\n Frogmore Cottage is a 19th century, Grade II-listed property. It is located in the grounds of the grand Frogmore House<\/a>, where Harry and Meghan had their wedding reception.<\/p>\n The king is currently dealing with his own renovation headache. Buckingham Palace is currently undergoing a massive refurbishment project <\/a>to prevent the risk of \u201ccatastrophic building failure\u201d\u2014some of its 100 miles of electrical cable is 60 years old, while its boilers were installed in the 1980s.<\/p>\n \u00a3369m ($500m) has been allocated from the Sovereign Grant towards the renovation costs.<\/p>\n
