Maybe you\u2019ve read his widely circulated quote during the NBA Finals, as his hometown Knicks sit one game away from winning their first championship since 1973: \u201cI see Hasidic Jews break dancing with Black kids,\u201d Joe <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/krispursiainen\/status\/2063664342986273215\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">claimed<\/a> with his plainspoken absurdity. \u201cThis is the greatest unification of the city since 9\/11.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIf not, you\u2019ve likely seen him make some sort of similar, humorously hyperbolic proclamation on <em>Joe &amp; Jada<\/em>, the fast-rising hip-hop podcast he co-hosts with Jadakiss. On the twice-weekly talk show, Fat Joe riffs on everything from hating <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DZdVTmRhuqv\/?hl=en\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">how loud the birds are outside his home<\/a> to the time, per his telling, the Taliban once <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/XQHK7ID4Gkc\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">\u201ctook a day off\u201d<\/a> following Michael Jackson\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThis summer, you\u2019ll only be hearing much more of Fat Joe, thanks to his forthcoming album produced by Cool &amp; Dre (it\u2019s tentatively slated to come out in mid-July). This week, he released the first preview of the album, \u201cVictory Lap (Him)\u201d, an intergenerational tapestry of New York City hip-hop that weaves together a 1988 MC Lyte sample and an all-too-brief Jadakiss appearance while flipping \u201cVictory,\u201d the posthumous Notorious B.I.G.\u00a0collaboration with Diddy. Along with Spike Lee, he\u2019s been one of the most longstanding and senior celebrity Knicks fans featured courtside during the team\u2019s historic playoff run. You got Yung Miami, who\u2019s the hottest chick in the game right now, and you also got MC Lyte, who\u2019s the living legend, going to the [Rock &amp; Roll] Hall of Fame real soon, and you got Fat Joe. It\u2019s a fun record. I think the game needs it right now. I don\u2019t even know how to explain it, being the kid that came out in 1993 with \u201cFlow Joe,\u201d still being relevant, still being on the news. My team I\u2019ve supported my whole life is now in the championship, <em>and<\/em> they\u2019re including me, which is weird as a fan. The other night the coach [Mike Brown] <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=3542881129221199\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>, \u201cFat Joe\u2019s jewelry is blinding me.\u201d Like, come on, man! As a kid, as a Knick fan, you think I ever dreamed that the coach would mention me?<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<strong>I know how long you\u2019ve been going to Knicks games. I remember being a little 14-year-old Jewish kid from the suburbs shaking your hand after a game back in 2004 or 2005, the Stephon Marbury era.<\/strong><br \/>You know what\u2019s crazy is Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet told me a similar story. He said, \u201cFat Joe, you was on the corner talking <em>shit<\/em>. I was a nine-year-old kid walking outside Madison Square Garden, I\u2019d never even heard nobody talk like that.
