Treaty Oak Revival has been in the headlines a handful of times in 2026, and while the band is popular it had little to do with its music.<\/p>\n
Instead, it had to do with its fans, and the ugly reputation they have picked up.<\/p>\n
It began earlier this year when the fans at one of Treat Oak Revival\u2019s shows pelted the band with debris.<\/p>\n
It was part of a tradition that began as a \u201cbeer shower\u201d \u2014 fans take a beer, spin it around their head to sling all the liquid out, and then drop the can or bottle on the ground \u2014 but escalated into something that is now a problem.<\/p>\n
In fact, it became so much of a problem that frontman Sam Canty walked offstage during a performance in Indiana earlier this year, and his wife, Kelsi, launched into an expletive-filled rant against fans who throw things at the stage.<\/p>\n
It doesn\u2019t appear that things have improved much since then because the fans were criticized after the band\u2019s recent performance at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.<\/p>\n
With the history in the building, they got a couple more notices not to throw things at The Ryman before the show, Saving Country Music reported, along with video to prove it.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet\u2019s show some respect for The Ryman,\u201d a statement that was displayed behind the stage read. \u201cPlease do not throw things. We love you.\u201d<\/p>\n
The fans did not listen as the video showed debris being hurled at the band during the stage.<\/p>\n
Canty did not walk off, though, and Treat Oak Revival did thank the fans for turning out.<\/p>\n
Saving Country Music called <\/b><\/a>it a \u201cdisrespect of The Ryman, of Treaty Oak Revival, and their requests.\u201d<\/p>\n Kelsi Canty made it clear to fans in a TikTok video what is expected at shows after the Indiana concert earlier this year.<\/p>\n \u201cLet\u2019s talk about it,\u201d Kelsi Canty said in the video<\/b><\/a> after showing a stitch of the band\u2019s performance in Indiana.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to show you how you are supposed to throw your beer, and not throw it on the stage,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Canty then used a bottle of water, slinging the liquid around her kitchen.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to have to (expletive) clean this up, and I\u2019m going to hate this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cYou are supposed to throw (the liquid) over your head and drop it on the ground,\u201d she continued. \u201cIs it that hard? Is it hard? This is why there\u2019s plastic ups now instead of bottles because of you guys. They\u2019re literally giving it their all, performing for you guys, giving you the best concert that they can. And y\u2019all are ruining it for them by throwing stuff at them. It\u2019s just not cool. It\u2019s just not nice. You want me to throw something at you? Because I (expletive) will.\u201d<\/p>\n She then addressed comments claiming the band encouraged fans to throw stuff at the stage.<\/p>\n \u201cShut the (expletive) up,\u201d she said. \u201cThey never once have encouraged you guys throwing (expletive) at them onstage. They have encouraged you guys to throw beer over your head, drop your (expletive) on the ground or a trash can. So, for the negative (expletive) Nancys (she threw up a middle finger).
