A pair of \u201cDuck Dynasty\u201d stars have wrapped filming on their new North Texas-set series.<\/p>\n

Great American Media announced late last year<\/a> that Jep and Jessica Robertson are leading a new unscripted lifestyle series called \u201cJep & Jess: Beyond the Bayou.\u201d The show sees the Robertsons trade Louisiana for Texas as they develop a property at the Comanche Moon Ranch<\/a> in Mingus, which is about 70 miles west of Fort Worth.<\/p>\n

Production began in early April and wrapped this week, for a planned released in early fall on Great American Pure Flix.<\/a><\/p>\n

Viewers will see the Robertsons build their new ranch and live like Texans, along with juggling parenting and grandparenting their big family.<\/p>\n

The Star-Telegram visited the \u201cBeyond the Bayou\u201d set before filming finished and spoke with the Robertsons about the new show.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s gone by really fast, to be perfectly honest with you,\u201d Jep said on his back porch. \u201cIt\u2019s been a pleasure. We\u2019ve done a lot of TV things, I\u2019ve really enjoyed this one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Texas living<\/h2>\n

The Roberstsons have lived in Texas before, more specifically outside Austin for a handful of years after \u201cDuck Dynasty\u201d and \u201cJep & Jessica: Growing the Dynasty\u201d concluded.<\/p>\n

Things are a little different this time around due to the \u201cendless\u201d opportunities that the Comanche Moon Ranch development gives them, Jessica said. There\u2019s space to go hiking, cast fishing rods, shoot clay targets or even play pickleball at a court that was converted out of a tractor storage area.<\/p>\n

Seeing the family dive into these activities and more are what\u2019s in store for viewers when they press play on \u201cBeyond the Bayou.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs many things as we can kind of come up with for families out here to do fun things,\u201d Jep said.<\/p>\n

Another unique element to the property is the \u201cexotic wildlife\u201d hanging around.<\/p>\n

Jessica sometimes looks out her window in the morning and sees turkeys walking around or even an aoudad sheep or two. The two have also spotted blackbuck and fallow deer.<\/p>\n

And, of course, there\u2019s all those dang reptiles Texas is known for.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, there\u2019s lots of rattlesnakes out here,\u201d Jessica said.<\/p>\n

Faith and family<\/h2>\n

When people flip on \u201cBeyond the Bayou,\u201d the Robertsons hope viewers take away a few different things.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s the family and faith element, where viewers get a close-up view of how the Robertsons live their lives. Another factor is showcasing what they\u2019ve built in Mingus, and what\u2019s to come.<\/p>\n

Jep also notes that there\u2019s an interactive element to the project.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like you can be a big part of it, own a ranch,\u201d Jep said. \u201cYou could be a small part of it, come check it out and stay for a week and check out the state park.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Jessica, it\u2019s about community and trying to build something meaningful with the people around you.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven if you didn\u2019t grow up with a great community, you can find it,\u201d she said. \u201cYou can find that wherever you are.\u201d<\/p>\n
