The original winner of America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/em><\/a> is reacting to Tyra Banks<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 defamation lawsuit against Netflix<\/a> following the platform\u2019s bombshell docuseries, Reality Check: Inside America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI read that Tyra Banks is suing Netflix because she didn\u2019t like being edited,\u201d Adrianne Curry<\/strong><\/a>, who won the inaugural season of the hit reality competition show, said in a video shared via Instagram on Sunday, June 14. \u201cBiiiiiiiiiiiitch, for real girl? Like?\u201d<\/p>\n

Curry, 43, ended the video with a boisterous laugh.<\/p>\n

One day earlier, the model named the streaming giant in a defamation lawsuit filed on Saturday, June 13, and obtained by People<\/em>. Banks reportedly accused Netflix of defamation and heavily editing her on-camera interviews.<\/p>\n

\u201cTyra Banks participated in the Netflix documentary series America\u2019s Next Top Model (\u2018ANTM\u2019) because she believed viewers deserved a candid conversation about the show\u2019s legacy \u2014 its successes and its shortcomings,\u201d the filing reportedly reads in part. \u201cThere are aspects of the show for which Ms. Banks takes accountability and she wanted ANTM viewers to hear that from her directly. Going into her interview, Ms. Banks did not limit the ANTM topics the interviewers could ask. During a three-and-a-half hour interview, Ms. Banks answered questions about the show\u2019s groundbreaking history, including criticism of decisions she would approach differently today.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netflix has not publicly responded to the reported lawsuit. Us Weekly<\/em> reached out to the streaming platform for comment but did not hear back at the time of publication.<\/p>\n

Reality Check: Inside America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/em>, which premiered on February 16, featured rare interviews with executive producers Banks and Ken Mok<\/strong> and former judges Jay Manuel<\/strong><\/a>, Miss J. Alexander<\/strong><\/a> and Nigel Barker<\/strong><\/a> as they broke down the reality competition\u2019s best \u2014 and worst \u2014 moments. Former contestants \u2014 including Whitney Thompson<\/strong>, Giselle Samson<\/strong>, Shannon Stewart<\/strong>, Shandi Sullivan<\/strong>, Danielle \u201cDani\u201d Evans<\/strong><\/a> and Keenyah Hill<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 also opened up about their behind-the-scenes experiences, which they claimed included discrimination and sexual assault<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Curry reacted to the docuseries<\/a> shortly after its release, accusing Banks of simply feigning her remorse over some of the show\u2019s more controversial and downright detrimental moments.<\/p>\n

Netflix released Reality Check: Inside America\u2019s Next Top Model on Monday, February 16, which featured Banks, 52, addressing the infamous moment she yelled at Richardson on the show.
