The Real Housewives of Orange County<\/em><\/a> alum Jo De La Rosa<\/strong><\/a> is giving what she says is the most difficult update yet in her ongoing fertility journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sitting here figuring out how to start this video, because I always start the same: 45 and trying to get pregnant,\u201d Jo said in a video shared via TikTok on Saturday, June 13. \u201cBut today, it just feels really heartbreaking to say it because I\u2019m 45 and I actually cannot get pregnant and I cannot tell you how heartbreaking that is to admit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality TV star continued, \u201cWe\u2019ve been trying to get pregnant for three years now. I have to do my makeup while I\u2019m doing this, because I just need a little happiness in my life right now, you know? Makeup makes me happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jo, who fans first met during the 2006 premiere of the hit Bravo series as one of the OG five cast members, is married to musician Taran Gray<\/strong><\/a>. Jo told fans in her emotional video that the couple went to their first IVF appointment \u201cyesterday,\u201d adding that they each were subjected to individual testing to determine their chances of successfully getting pregnant and carrying that pregnancy to term.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIt has been a difficult road to parenthood for many celebrity parents, including Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. After in vitro fertilization didn\u2019t work on the first try, Teigen wondered if she had done something wrong. \u201cYou just look for anything to blame, especially yourself,\u201d Teigen explained to New York Magazine\u2019s The Cut in April [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI got an ultrasound and they, like, stick a thing in you and they look to see how many eggs you have and the doctor was hoping to find at least six [in one ovary] and six [in the other],\u201d she continued. \u201cEven for that many eggs, it was going to be a four percent chance. So I already knew walking into this appointment that our chances were low given my age.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cBut when she looked inside me, it was zero on one side and one on the other. Like, are you kidding me?\u201d<\/p>\n

The number of eggs required to have the best chance at a successful IVF round varies depending on the gestating person\u2019s age, per Boston IVF<\/a>. For someone who is over 42 years old, upwards of 67 eggs may be necessary in order to achieve a successful result given the quality of the eggs (which diminishes over time).<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just, like, I\u2019m still in disbelief,\u201d Jo continued, growing emotional again as she detailed how her fertility journey has undoubtedly changed. \u201cMaybe I\u2019ve been living in delusion that I thought I could get pregnant naturally at 45. I just feel like I\u2019m in a bad dream that I can\u2019t really wake up from. I should feel grateful that I can still carry a baby. I should feel grateful that we\u2019re going to be able to, like, choose somebody to be able to give me their egg, to be able to implant it in me and it\u2019s going to be half Taran.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tErin Andrews shared an update on her fertility journey. \u201cI decided to inject HGH [Human Growth Hormone], Gonal-f [follitropin alfa], and Clomid [clomiphene] and try to do another IVF round, but whatever,\u201d Andrews, 47, shared about her ongoing efforts to expand her family during the Tuesday, April 14, episode of her \u201cCalm Down With Erin [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The reality star went on to reveal that the couple plan to use egg donation<\/a> to try to get pregnant, allowing Jo the opportunity to carry the pregnancy to term, after her doctor said it was the \u201conly viable option\u201d of getting pregnant.<\/p>\n
