A Perfect Circle are keeping the momentum going.<\/em><\/h2>\n

After returning with their first new music in years through recent single Starless<\/em>, guitarist Billy Howerdel has confirmed the band is already working toward what comes next, and it sounds like more material is firmly underway.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Minneapolis station 93X, Howerdel was asked whether a full length album is in the works following Starless<\/em> via Blabbermouth<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s more [music] underway. And in the spirit of soft deadlines, I\u2019m not gonna give you the date, but we\u2019re working toward something.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

While that\u2019s not a formal album announcement just yet, it\u2019s the clearest indication so far that Starless<\/em> may be the beginning of a larger creative cycle rather than a one off release.<\/p>\n

Touring slowing down the process<\/h2>\n

Howerdel admitted touring has made progress slower than ideal, with the band currently deep into its European run.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re on tour. It\u2019s hard to get solid things done when you\u2019re out here\u2026 So to get real cracking on to the new album, it\u2019s gonna be\u2026 I need a couple more of these days to line up over the next tour.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The comments arrive only weeks after A Perfect Circle<\/a><\/em><\/strong> released Starless<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, a track recorded earlier this year at Howerdel\u2019s Lankershim Ranch Studio in California and featuring longtime collaborator Josh Freese behind the kit.<\/p>\n

Howerdel also reflected on his creative relationship with vocalist Maynard James Keenan, crediting the frontman\u2019s work ethic and focus as a major reason the band continues to move forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it\u2019s time to work, we\u2019re kind of in it\u2026 Once the train starts rolling, it\u2019s rolling.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

For Australian fans, the timing is especially interesting, A Perfect Circle will return to Australia this December for their first local headline run since 2013, joined by Puscifer for a run of arena and special event dates across Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n
