Sorrentino announced on social media that he will attend the opening of Archangel Centers<\/u><\/a> on July 24 at 11:11 a.m.<\/p>\n Mike \u201cThe Situation\u201d Sorrentino will be in Matthews in July for the grand opening of his new addiction recovery center.<\/p>\n (Facebook)<\/span><\/div>\n According to the announcement, guests will have an opportunity to tour the facility, meet staff members and learn more about the center\u2019s services.<\/p>\n While many fans know Sorrentino for his reality TV fame, his visit to the Charlotte area is tied to a different chapter of his life, centered on addiction recovery and helping others find sobriety.<\/p>\n Sorrentino became a household name in 2009 when MTV\u2019s \u201cJersey Shore\u201d debuted, catapulting him and his castmates into fame. Known for his abs, catchphrases and larger-than-life personality, he quickly became one of the show\u2019s most recognizable figures.<\/p>\n But behind the scenes, Sorrentino was battling addiction.<\/p>\n Over the years, he has spoken publicly<\/u><\/a> about becoming dependent on prescription painkillers after receiving medication following injuries.
